Hey guys, I have a futaba s9451 servo. The first gear stripped out, the part number? on it is 9151? I have checked out futaba's website and their chart for the gears but I do not see it listed. Could anyone point me in the right direction? I would like a metal gear as a replacement but plastic would be fine also. It is just being used as a throttle servo so metal is not really required. I learned a lesson, with my Nomadio, when you set the failsafe, you have to remember to turn the car off, if not after a few minutes you will strip the servo!

Robbe (http://www.robbe-online.net/) is apparently distributing this servo, their number for the replacement plastic gear is 1-F1378 (3,60 euro).
Not sure if this helps somehow.

I don't know if it would be a good idea to use a metal gear instead, it's a cheap way to protect the servo. Just buy a few spares..

Unfortunately this is a gear set and may be the only way to get the plastic one (happened to me before with Hitec). Did you try contacting Futaba directly?

On a hunch I looked up the nylon gear set for a 9400 series servo: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...=++&search3=Go at 5.49 it's worth a try.

Thanks to all who replied. After searching the net for hours I finally found a site that has cross referenced futaba servos. This site tells you what gears fit in multiable servos. Come to find out, the numbers on the servo are 9151, that is also a futaba servo and the first gear interchanges from that to the 9451. He sold this gear seperatly so I was able to save about $25 bucks.

My 9451 servo was very noisy recently. I am using it for throttle servo too, and I guess it is damaged now ( maybe I forget to set max EPA for brake ).

The servo is still operating smoothly but the noise is just too loud. Is yours was like that ?

You have to dig to find the chart. The 9151 and 9451 only share 1st gear. The 9451 doesn't share any other gears with any other servo.

It was my failsafe that did me in this time. Go figure something that is supposed to save you from damage caused damage

Well beside a high pitch whine all the time (caused by springs pushing back on the arm) it operated smoothly. I had a hitec servo that became noisey and it ended up needing some lithium lube. Once it was lubed it was quite again.

Could someone confirm if the gear set for servo 9151 will be ok for servo 9451 (only the nylon gear needed)

I have sent futaba an email this morning but still no reply. I hope that they will be able to sell only the nylon gear. I don't want to pay 25$ for the complete gear set and only used the nylon gear.

after around 1 hour of internet search, I could confirm that the nylon gear in the s9151 servo will work in the s9451.

I have saw around 4 rc shop that advertise that nylon gear for s9151 and for s9451.

Price was around 1$ to 3$ for the single gear or 5$ to 8$ for the complete set.

This is the futaba part number for just the gear but it doesn't look like too many shops in the US carry it.
