Jammin is a good car too.

One thing I don't like about Hyper8 is front camber link. I have to remove the front shock tower in order to remove the hinge pin.

Just use a small pin and poke it through the back of the plastic retainer. There are small holes back there for doing that.

Sure there is, you just run spoked wheels and slide a 3mm allen through the spokes into the pillow ball...

Oh wait, that's how you do it on a Mugen.

Does the H8 use a tie rod with a hole or does it have a hex?

Racers in my hometrack switched to Hyper8, 777SP2, Jammin XC1. They are tired with Mugen because the front & rear suspension arms often break or bend.

I have only ever broken one arm (I thought it broke too easily)and that was the first revision that allowed for more clearance for the steering arm. I have never broken a rear arm or hub carrier (plastic, not aluminum) but I have broken a rear outer hinge pin without breaking the other parts. They are supposed to have fixed the front arms but I haven't broken anything since. Nobody knows when/if Mugen will release a new buggy (07 maybe?)but a revision should be here around World's time. There isn't really anything that that needs fixing other than the shocks need hardcoating from the factory (this is a big one to me) and lighter Pillow balls for the front end. Everything else about the car is excellent.

I think most manufacturers will all have to re-design to match Team Losi's new layout. There is no way that having the engine that much closer to the center of the car will not be a big advantage.

moving the engine over 8mm will not be that big of an advantage, and the bend in the front universal to make this possible has not proven itself yet. if you follow onroad you will se that losi's jrxs does not dominate onroad and the have a more centralized mass than anyone. as a matter of fact i just saw yet another version of this car with the engine in the rear, that makes three revisions to that car since it came out. i like losi and used to run there cars, but there track record as of late has been very dissapointing. with a new buggy based off and older buggy, and a re-release of the xx4 a car designed in 96'-97', sorry to vent but i feel like everyone thinks that this losi car will be great and that is implying that companies like kyosho, mugen, x-ray, and ofna (which are clones of other cars) are absolutely clueless to r/c car design.

Yes it will. 1/8 cars are not anything like electric cars where the battery is the single biggest piece of mass. Even if the front drive shaft is problematic the advantage of the engine being that far to the center will be very big. Wait and see.

Nobody is doubting the design prowess of Kyosho and Mugen or any of the clones that they spawned. They all just overlooked a simple solution bringing the engine closer to the center. The Losi still borrows heavily from the cars that came before it.

The Losi Eight should prove good for how the diffs act when the weight of the car is shifting from side to side. It will change directions quickly and will carry speed very well. After driving the JRXS I believe this to be true.
The front drive shaft has been proven. See all front drives in 1/8 cars. They run straight or at an angle. It won't be a problem.
This ccar will not have the chassis roll of the others where their weight is distributed away from the center.
Mine is on order.
