Default Starter box mods...

Has anyone attempted to put more powerful motors in their starter boxes? I have two boxes and none like to turn over my P5. I just got a new 421b and have yet to attempt to break it in. The P5 has about 1.5 gallons through it, and it still stalls out any but the most stout boxes. I am starting to think that 24v of gel cell umph will do the trick.

Are the astroflight 05 pulling motors still available? That might suffice...

some boxes will take regular stock motors...my sportwerks box is stock except for the 1.20 promatch cells that i had left over from carpet...it will turn any motor over...great for breakins...but that little rubber wheel really sux...its only 6 bux but i go through them too fast now that i have the torque...

find an ofna box that uses a 12 volt motor. I have one and a gell cell inside the box and there isn't an engine that it can't crank over. Still on the original wheel for the last 4 years too.

It's a money thing.. I don't really have money for a new box right now... spent it all on the new 421... oops. I'm gonna try putting some old packs in it, in place of the gel cell. Plus the vegas trip... IIC is getting a little more attention from me than nitro off-road.

You can run your starterbox off a car battery also. I do it all the time with some mini jumper wires I made in case my gel cell goes low.
