i have just discovered a major problem

i went to test run my bk2 today it has a hites 625mg servo 19 turn ultrabird motor gt7 spedo and the 3 ch spectrum radio

if i grab a handfull of throtle the car stops and the green signal indicator ligt on the spectrum receiver goes out and it takes a few secs to come back on if i rollinto the throtle its fine Help!!!!

i swithched spedos anf that didnt help.

if i run a traditional style radio it works fine

Did you try a different battery in the bk2? Its posisable the battery is not fully charged or the battery voltage is just weak and putting it into failsafe when you grab a handful.

did you program the reciever to your radio, on a spectrum im pretty sure you have to set up each reciever with the radio, i dont know how you do it, you'll have to look in the manuel, ive just heard people at my LHS talking about it. hope this helps

the worst part of this problem is is that i had the same servo spedo and receiver in my cyclone with a stock motor and had no prob

bobf24 05-11-2006 12:02 PM

it doesn't have anything to do with the car, its because the motor is dawing so much current when you punch it, that the receiver isn't getting enough power so it kicks into fail safe mode, the capictor stores engery, so when you punch it, the receiver still has enoguh power to not go into fail safe, a stock motor wont draw as much amps as a 19 turn will, so thats why it works with the stock motor,

like i siad, i'm almost positive that will solve your problems, and for the $6, if it doens't work its not the end of the world,

Or you can go to your local radio shack and but the same value cap and install it and save youself about $6-7 after shipping. A friend of mine had the same problem with a Tekin speedo and he then tried LRP which also helped him.

I'd still recommend the capacitor that was linked to above. I had to put em in my cars for running mod as well. Otherwise you'd swear the steering broke after the straight. Cheap fix. :)
