Default What is a good way to get rid of bad nitro fuel?

I have a few gal. jugs of nitro fuel that are no longer good, they have been sitting for a while. I was just wondering what was a safe and legal , way of getting rid of it.

You could probably drop it off at a service station that does oil changes. They all send in used oil for re-cycling. That is probably the best thing to do with it.

I like the idea about the loaner fuel though.

In mind and body, we're all heading towards old age. It is slower to go by bike.

Just call up your local waste management department and ask them if they accept methanol/oil mixes.

One time I had some old Traxxas fuel and we had a fire so I decided to dump it on. Bad idea. the fire came back into the can and blew it back hit my garage. The fire shot up and it was actually pretty scary.

If you haven't noticed, some posts were removed from this thread just due to the idiotic and very dangerous suggestions that the posts contained.

The only proper way to dispose of Nitro fuel is to use it as practice / bash fuel, or to dispose of it with a dangerous waste center in the same manor you would paint, gasoline, or oil.

Nitro fuel contains materials that are very dangerous and DEADLY for human consumption. It will make you go blind, and/or KILL you.

Burning nitro fuel is also dangerous as it does not burn with a visable flame. You do not know if it is still burning, nor do you know how large of a flame it is creating.

Don't be a fool, be safe with your fuel.
