interesting..

it will be good to see if another company can compete the the likes of Losi and assiocated with a 2wd platform....although I doubt it...

Todd,

They will never compete in terms of getting results because they don't have the drivers. Doesn't mean the car isnt as good though

Their tiny team at the worlds did very well imo.

They just need to sign up a few more dedicated electric off-road drivers in the US and Europe to help the car make it into the A-Mains at the big events.

I am convinced that Kyosho could be fully competitive in 2wd electric. Way back when the Ultima was released Joel Johnson won the worlds with it despite having very little time to develop a setup. Given the performance of their 1/8 on road and off road chassis, the Lazer zx5 and their 1/10 nitro chassis I have to believe that they can develop a top notch 2wd chassis just as soon as they want to. I heard the same as bender, they were doing pretty well at the worlds with Pavidis and Kortz.

the car looks to be promising considering the time they took on the lazer and they are taking even more time with the 2wd so i think it will be the one to beat at local tracks all around. it's probably going to have more of a b4 influence than the losi so i like that.

Oh, I agree 100%. I'm using the Lazer's driveshaft in the TF-5 right now and it looks rather interesting.

I hope next year. On-road pretty much killed my R/C budget for the rest of 2006.

that car has the edxact same main chassis as there ultima type r buggy so i think that you can buy a few peices seperate and make the old buggy in there new one or make your own pieces to have the new car

The Chassis is actually longer, and slightly difffernt in other ways then the old Ultima Chassis. If you look, there is also two different shock towers on the two cars in the pics, found in the last link posted. The 2wd with the blue shock collars has a different front tower then the one with the red shock collars.

I'm guessing the white car is more "prototypical" than the more finished looking one in the japanese site, which would likely explain the differences in the shock towers.

I also like the front hubs..."losi style" where the bearings stay in the hubs instead of in the wheel. No more having to change out bearings from wheel to wheel. Kinda weird how they cut the rear part of the body though...it's like they cut too much off...haha.
