Where is it pushing Going into the corner or on exit? More steering into the corner move the front shock in on the arm. More exit steering try some weight on the nose. Going to 57 pistons or 30 wt in the front should give more overall steering.
Thanks! I need a little more into the turn but mostly overall. I was having to swing the back end around a corner almost like a drift.
You will need to tap the breaks a little in the sharp 180's but hopefully the car is setup to square up and accelerate out of the corners so you can get back going quick!
Hi. As far as I can tell, I was about the only xxx-cr at the Leisure Hours Fall Classic last night. I am getting back into RC. So I know enough that the Matt Chambers setup is pretty good. SO I start with that and some nearly worn down pink taper pins in the back and bar codes in the front. Maybe my throttle skills aren't the best. But, I had a hunch about what I needed to drive my way on that track that night.
First, I lengthened the rear camber link just a pinch on the hub carrier. I am not too skilled here, but I was thinking I wanted more contact patch if the car leaned over a alot in the rear. Don't know for sure if it helped.
Then I went up spring rate in the rear. Start with gray, then white, then yellow. In the end, as I made changes and also got more practice, I had a better feel that I could point and shoot the car. Like the rear was planted, but I could also pivot from there quicker and point where I wanted to go.
Did I do the right thing? Am I straying from the gospels?

I just picked up a XXX-CR and would of been at the classic if I could of made it . But anyway it will be nice to see more Losi racers at LH ! I believe there are 4-5 right now and hope we can bring some more over .
Bob , do you race at LH on a weekly basis ? I`m just starting to get back into racing every week and will be there next Saturday . Have you tried Casper`s setup ? I`m going to start with his on my buggy and go from there .

Hi. Not weekly. Wish it was so. I am 2 hours away with normal life story stuff mixed in.
One nice guy sold me a T-plate that I needed. Thanks to him.
I am not familiar with Casper or his setup. BTW, there is one setup item that is sorely under-explained. Where is the "bumpsteer" washer. It never appears with a name and a picture at the same time in the Losi book.
I have liked the Matt Chambers setup in general, but I suffered at Trackside with the quick point-and-shoot requirements there. Same suffering at LH until I stiffened the rear spring a bit.
I would be happy to hang with the Losi crew at LH, and invite y'all out to my loose dirt track in the non-winter months.
EDIT: Add -- though I have a Losi, I am a big Mike Kochanski fan, and he is very helpful.

The bump steer washers go on the ball stud on the spindle spindle ball stud an believe on the bell crank as well when using the bell crank instead of the steering rack .
Mike is a great guy and have learned a lot from him .

Bob - the bumpsteer washer goes under the ballstud on the steering spindle. Matt's setup is a great place to start. Your changes seem to be normal changes and don't stray from the norm at all. Good luck and let me know if I can help you...

Thanks, Chris. I did not Transgress -- Yay!
Is the aluminum front bulkhead for weight or for some other reason?

I know what you mean about being the only Losi at the track.
We ran a club race today at www.arcshobbies.com and all the guys for X Factory showed up. Paul Sinclair, Dan Griffen and Brian Kinwald.
There were 30 2wd mod buggies and only 2 Losi cars. I run a BK1 and the other is a XXXCR. I ended up taking 5th. It was quite an accoplishment to just make the A with all the talent there today.

I love being the small fish in the big ocean -- at least you have all the truth in front of you.
My son does have a T4 RTR-based that he runs as a rookie, and we may aim him to 19-turn truck with that T4. I am not zealous either way, but I like the Losi shocks after coming off a xxx-4. They are all OK to me.
