From those who were there, was there a significant disadvantage in "mileage" for the 8ight compared to the other cars? I imagin that this is more likely an engine issue than a car issue though.

Travis' motor looked to be a little richer than others but still fast. The track and weather drastically changed from Saturday with all the rain Saturday night. It was just a pit timing mistake. He tried going an extra lap than the Scott and Ryan.

If you guys are looking for more info on the 8IGHT, check out the tour they just posted. It's actually pretty cool.

Wow, that's the first look at the 4 shoe clutch up close! That looks tight, plus the larger diameter bearings should keep your clutch together by not blowing out as often as the 5x10's

The one thing that blew me away the first time I saw the 8IGHT in person was how free the driveline is. It reminded me of a shaft-drive sedan, it was crazy. It had like 20 seconds of free-spin. This is going to be one kick butt car.

Question on the clutch....I talked to one of the Losi guys at the Roar Nats (I think it was Gil but not sure) and was really excited when he was explaining the cltuch system to me. I've been using the werks clutch for some time now but it has started to become more and more unreliable. For some reason I've been getting more and more slipping with it.

Anyway, after seeing the pic of the Lois 4 shoe clutch for the first time, the only thing that worries me is the possability of the screws backing out. Would we think that a little lock-tite on each screw would secure each of them well enough to not have to worry about them backing out??

the clutch system uses the same screw type pins that evey losi gas truck has ever used. I have never had a pin come remotely close to backing out when using loctite.

Another perk of the screw pins in the clutch is that the whole clutch is rebuildable. Flywheels are generally a low wear item but this way you can replace the pins in case they should ever wear out prematurely. Good thinking..
