Kyosho 1/10 not competitive anymore?
#61
Their latest 1/10 remakes are actually new designs and tooling of a whole kit. Vs they only need to change a few parts on their rb7/zx7 to make it stay competitive. I’d love to see an updated RT truck range

According to Kyosho Europe there are no plans to produce new 1/10 off road racing kits, and seemingly an explicit decision to not do so. Parts will apparently continue to be produced - so hopefully the currently low availability is temporary - but i'm still dubious/concerned about that.

The bad news is, that could be quite true. The good news is, they always say that up until the prototype is seen out on a track.
RB7 parts are still easy to get. The ZX7 parts are harder to find.
My guess is, Kyosho will come out with a new 1/10 platform in a couple years when the designs start to be a lot more drastic. That would make a lot of people excited about it and want to purchase one. Right now, an RB7 could be updated with all the new hyped stuff for about $150. Most of us already have much of those updates. All I'm missing is the easy access diff, which I don't need because I'm on clay. And that's more of a convenience thing than a performance thing.
