Piping HOT! OS .21RG
 

From your experience what Pipes have you found to work well with the OS .21 RG? Specifically for 1/8 buggy on short to medium tracks. I hear good things about the 086 and the Jammin JP pipes... Ideas?

go find yourself the os 2030 pipe. Just like the 2050 was designed for the v spec, the 2030 was designed for the rg/rz-v.

I have a few pipes laying around and don't want to go buy another pipe at this time. I have no idea what the OS numbers mean for their pipes. Is the 2030 a low end pipe comparable to the 063's or is it more like an 086?

I had alot of trouble with temperature running a v-spec with a jammin jp-1 last summer. I tried everthing to keep it cool, nothing worked. Every self proclaimed tuning guru was stumped by the affair. I finally dented the pipe enough to warrant borrowing a 2050 from a friend, and wouldn't you know it- temps dropped from a pretty constant 270 to a very managable 225. I could run the needle about anywhere and never flame out. Kinda weird because there were more than a few other guys that were running the v-spec/Jammin combo that did not have any trouble. :weird:

the 2030 is more of a torque/mid range pipe, but the pipe is very sensitive to overall length, which makes it easy for the user to adjust for more torque or top end. I had one on my RZ-V and it worked really well.

I used the Ofna 086 on my RG and worked very well. I liked it better than the OS 2050. Haven't tried the 2030 though.

Tell me more about the 086 pipe. What engine temps, fuel, type of track, etc..? This seems like the best deal - ~$43.00.

the o86 pipe is designed to give you maximum horsepower. The torque output is decent at best. Really meant for a wide open track without any or very few slow corners. Fuel mileage is ok, but because the power band is shifted up, it is not going to be as good as it could be.

different pipes will suit different engines better. Just cause you want low end power doesn't nessecarilly mean you throw on a low end pipe. You need the pipe to match the powerband of the engine. I wanted more bottom end from my Collari B7. Guess what pipe I had on? An 063 pipe from Ofna. I switched to the 086 and I had great bottom and a ferocious top end.

I have tried the following pipes on an rg

os 2050-- great pipe good fuel mileage(7-7.5 mins) great bottom end and very good top

power racing 086-- ok fuel mileage (6.5 to 7 mins) very good top and ok bottom

fioroni ot-ma03--(this pipe is hard to find but worth it.) fuel milage right around 7 mins. very close to the os 2050 but with slightly more top end my favorite pipe I've tested

jp-1-- poor fuel milage (6 to 6.5 mins)very good top end but lacks the bottom end of the os 2050, fioroni or 086

ths tourqe pipe--this pipe just plain sucked on the rg no top or bottom

I just got a 2030 and ofna 086 but have not tested them yet.

anyone have some experience with the OFNA 807 pipe?
