Model Rectifier Corporation and Academy, the 4WD specialists, are excited to announce the U.S. release of Academy Racings newest entry into the 4WD off-road racing world, the SB Sport V2. The “V2” kit sports a totally new design with features that can launch Academy into the top spot at many US tracks.
The transformation of the V2 begins with a very well thought out main chassis. Incorporating suggestions from American racers and MRC’s tech unit, Team Academy designed an incredible vehicle that will give V2 drivers a run for the trophies. Changing to a one piece top deck design, the SB Sport V2 has the backbone to stand up to all the back yard bashing events you can throw at it. Academy has given the driver the power of deciding the cars configuration and setup, by making the motor position and battery location adjustable throughout the chassis. The motor can be mounted on either the left or right side of the chassis. The batteries can also be moved on the main chassis with the use of battery trays that can be repositioned as needed. The battery may be mounted as a standard stick pack, side by side, or half in the front and half toward the rear on opposite sides. This capability will allow drivers to balance the V2 depending on the specific track they are racing on.
The motor mounts directly to a beautifully machined aluminum motor mount. Academy has done away with the compression fit motor mount from the original SB and given the decisions back to the driver by allowing for more adjustability with pinion and included spur gear options. A great feature of the V2 is the adjustable slipper clutch; by simply inserting the included wrench a driver can quickly make adjustments without disassembling any part of the car. The V2 has twin ball differentials, oil filled shocks, a modular bulkhead with built-in kick-up and lots more.
Additional adjustability has been designed into the buggy by redesigning the front and rear shock mounts. A rigid GRP chassis design has given strength to the car while preserving a smooth feel for the driver. The SB Sport V2 is will provide rock solid performance and driver satisfaction from start to finish.
Based on initial reactions from Team Academy drivers and the press at the iHobby Expo, MRC/Academy has designed a winner that is expected to show very well in local, regional and national races throughout the country. (Motor and other electronics not included) Item #15101 SB Sport V2
