I wonder what if losi will incorportate 8th scale LCD's into the car. I am not sure how they plan on making the engine any closer to the center line. In my Xb8 I need to make sure the engine is not hitting the center drive shaft as it is. I can hardly wait to see the new buggy. If it is anywhere near the price of other buggies I will be tempted to get one just for parts availability. As for Drake driving one. I think it will be interesting to see if he drives one. I cannot see how he cannot drive one since he actually works for Losi but he is one of the leading drivers for the Jammin camp. I have noticed a lot of the Losi drivers have been driving XB8's lately. It will be interesting to see what innovations Losi comes up with.

news was on rc.411.com first I think

about central centered engine perhaps they mean
the system MAD buggy in france makes:
a narrow, but milled out 12 mm alu plate chassis, with the engine mounts screwed
onto the center 12 mm torquerule or bulkhead if you like, verticaly ?...
.the engine being angled to a certain degree too

I've never seen that chassis before. What brand of parts does it use to complete the kit?

Cain, I'm not aware that drivers attempt to balance their cars other than using a heavier battery. Being 8-8.5 lbs they don't seem to be quite so sensitive to it. Pipes can vary a lot in weight too. Compare a Nova 9886 (thin and light) to a Jammin JP-1 (thick and heavy) and considering where it goes on the chassis it seems like they would put the radio gear farther out to the side to compensate. I think the designers are content with getting as much of the mass close to the center as possible.

it's from the same company that makes
the MAD shock piston system with valves up ou down travel
seen at Carolinas r/c

all supports needed are standing milled out of the 12 mm plate
picture show is the MD2 for 4x2 buggy xb8 as raced still in france

MD4 system goes onto all regular brands 777, mbx5 prospec and xb8 parts I think
but is quite expensive in the all, you must count double price of a normal kit

another solution to move the engine to the center

is to move the outdrives of the diffs on the sides, left and right
somehow
instead of in the middle....

well i dont know about you guys, but im in line for this car. I have had so much good luck with losi products. Heck, the rumors of this car made me want to wait and see if they are true before i drop a grand on a inferno. Now, just to save up for it, since i just started getting electric stuff again.

BTW, i seriously think the description doesnt mean a things. Now in 5 months, when guys start seeing it at the tracks, thats what im interested in.

Yeah this made a 2wd 8th scale. With the center drive shafts you can only move stuff so far in. It will be really intersting to see what Losi does. I will be keeping my eye out in the pits at the NC.

I know a guy who made his own 4x4

it has a string-drive ! to the front
the driveshafts is a steel capwire looped into
a small plastic chunnel, like a bikes brakes system
the engine is mounted centraly left to right not front to rear
transmission is with 2 conical gears onto the conical bellgear..
belt drive or gearbox to the rear
and it works !!

The "muggy" is based on the LST, and is actually very cool...it will be at the Nitro Challenge, so stop by and check it out.

BTW, the only Jammin' parts on the truck are the fuel tank and the body.

Gil Losi Jr. won't let this project out of the shop until it's how he wants it...it'll be good, regardless of how it turns out. Losi doesn't make some of the best cars on the market by accident!
