OK...I actually think I already have one of those Turnigy BEC's, looks like I gotta do some digging. the wiring seems pretty simple, although I've now read about 20 different forums on how to do it and there's a lot of different opinions on the "right way".

From what I understand:
1. Wire pos/neg to battery lead.
2. Cut power wire from esc
3. Plug BEC into receiver
4. Figure out what to do with 5' of extra wire
5. Drive truck, kiss cogging goodbye!
(6. Plasti dip the crap out of it)

right?

You'll still need power from esc to power rx.to run a bec run power and neg to battery.take rx plug on bec and remove hot and ground.attach rx hot and ground from bec to servo (if you pump 2s into an rx it'll fry. ..I know)take signal wire from servo and plug into actual rx.

Not good to run 2 power sources to rx. Two ways at least to wire a bec. Here's a couple samples.

The way I mentioned doesn't run 2 power sources to rx.only esc Sends power to rx.bec only powers servo. Most rx can't handle the 7.4v coming from bec.

Yes they are! I learned the hard way. I pumped 7.4v into the rx of my last 8th monster truck. When I powered it up it made a mad dash on it own into a brick wall. When I caught up to it and opened it up it puffed smoke from the rx.sucked because it was a wp rx.so I wired the way I mentioned. I was using flysky rx and it was designed for a max of 6v.so I powered rx from esc and servo to bec.oh by looking at your pics I'm trying to describe photo one I do beleive.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to describe in my earlier post lol....but the picture is worth a few more words than I typed! I might give it a try if I can find mine. Not sure where it is, but hey I just got home and I'm two beers in so I don't expect to find anything for a while

Since I run 2s i can get my 7.4v directly from the battery. The hk servos I run like that direct voltage. Wicked fast and stout

Definitely glad you went Ck trans. I received the redcat Everest trans today. The bolt patter is square unlike axial with offset. Split it in half so I could drill it out in axial patter (plenty of meat there in housing) and found all plastic gears and a pin holds the output shaft to the gear. Should be fine for what I'm using it for but definitely not axial tough.

7oz of lead in both front tires, and surprisingly doesn't make much of a difference versus stock. One the wheels are spinning pretty fast you can see it grabs a bit better, but thinking those foams need to be replaced with something more compress-able.

I was thinking buggy closed foams so they're always running semi flat, but have a cushion inside to a certain extent. Yes/no? Somebody already been there done that?

I suppose I should just ask hotrod or flou since we're the only ones in this thread lol...!

Well I am no help lol. I haven't been in it long enough to start playing with different foam setups and whatnot.but your theory sounds solid. I know I deflate the tires on my f150 to about half when I trail ride. Just enough air to protect the rim and keep the bead set. And let's my tread dig.

K sounds good, I'm going to give it a whirl. The foam in there is just a mess, constantly getting wet and muddy.... Will keep you posted on how it works out.
