Default SCX10 Shortbed Chevy

I recently bought my first SCX10. The first thing I did was make custom rear links to shorten the wheelbase for my shortbed Proline Chevy body. I have the 45 Amp, brushed Hobbyking ESC that I picked up from Ebay for $17 shipped. The motor is an RC4WD 35 turn. The tires are from China, they cost $12 shipped. I was not expecting much from them but they are very soft and sticky.

Nice truck.

I love the HobbyKing X-Car 45A Brushed ESC. That and the HobbyWing WP1060 brushed ESC are the only two that I use in my crawlers. The HobbyWing is rated at 60A and it's waterproof. I also use the 35T RC4WD motors.

What servo did you go with?

Thanks! The servo is a Solar D228. I was using it in a Slash previously, I've had it for a couple years. Thanks for telling me about the WP 1060, I didn't know it existed! Is it truly waterproof? I agree, the X-Car 45A ESC is great. So far, mine has run cool and has provided a very smooth throttle response.

I use the Solar D772. It has way more torque at a slower speed.

Awesome truck ! What is the wheelbase now since you shortened it? Nice wheels, where'd you get them? Do you have a link for the body as Proline has a few different chevy bodies. Thanks

Nice rig. I run the hw 1060 in 2 crawlers now. My hpi crawler king and my vaterra ascender. And yes they water proof. I haven't submerged or anything but heavy morning dew.and they are 22 bucks new. Pulling the hw brushed out the vaterra and going sensored brushless. I like your Chevy tho.

Best thing abt scale rigs you don't need the highest end chassis, electronics, or suspension!

That's correct even the sensored brushless setup I ordered was 76 bucks. Sky rc 60amp sensored/sensorless esc with a 17.5t sensored motor and program card. The more scale rigs I get the more I likem

Sorry this response is over a year late! The wheelbase stands at about 285mm now. The wheels are generic:

The body I have is discontinued.
