I will post pics soon of how it progresses.
Try RPP Hobby in the future.

rcmart is cheaper, has free post and is much quicker than ordering from the US (for me personally)

I got the sports kit already and it's half built I didn't get that from china. I only ordered the 4LS kit meaning just the suspension parts not the whole sawback 4LS kit form China, Rcmart to be specific. Just waiting for it to get here. I wanna see what I like better the leaf spring or 4LS.

Leaf spring will be the way to go for the Sawback. It's where it shines. I only got the 4LS... well just because. There are better 4 link rigs out there though.

I'm actually contemplating buying the leaf spring conversion kit and converting this Sawback. I'd do one of my sawbacks as regular leaf setup, and the other as leaf under axle setup for a lower stance.

Here is my first crawler build the Sawback sports. I upgraded the front bumper so far, the body is not the original I got it form eBay for $35 it's form the regular sawback I just put the roll bar for the sports kit needed a basher body. I also ordered a new roll bar kit for the original body that will be next for me to build. I will paint it dark green. I will also install the light buckets on the second body. It will be ready to roll soon, just need to hook up the motor to the ESC. I got the tenshock crawler brushless motor the connectors are 4mm so I ordered 3.5mm to be able to connect it to the ESC. The ESC is hobbywing waterproof and the servo is a Spectrum waterproof servo.

Spring over and spring under. It's good to have options...

I just got these rims for my Sawback and I think these look really good on the Jeep. If any of you guys want a set they are Gmade (GM70254). They are aluminum outer rim only the rest is plastic. They come in pair not set. I got these off eBay for 34 for the pair.

Yep, I've been keeping an eye on those. I've also been looking at the fully aluminum ones as well.. the AR series from GMade.

Yeah was looking at those specifically. Only reason I haven't picked them up is because there are generic chinese all aluminum ones that are really similar in design and cost $20 less for a set of 4.

If they had the NR01S (the ones you got) in all aluminum I would've picked it up in a heartbeat.

SOoooooo.....Anyone thought of doing a gear upgrade? well guess what....I did an R1 underdrive mod AND I have my ring/pinion gear left over from that. I am going to do Overdrive mod and create a lil pull in my sawback. pinion is 3 teeth smaller. doesn't change gearing much but it will help with steering and should suck the chassis down some.....Lil modding necessary but s/b about an hour job. I'll keep everyone posted

Hey guys. I just dusted off my Sawback haven't used it in a very long time. I was browsing the net and saw that they have a new version of the rig or at least a new paint job that I like it's Desert tan. I have a body sitting around and was thinking of painting it this color. Does anybody know where I can find this paint or maybe try to recreate it somehow.

I couldn't find the desert tan paint for my new lid so I settled for Mojave sand by Pro-line. I also color matched the wind screen and sprayed the body and wind screen with flat clear. I'm still waiting for the light buckets that I could not find anywhere but got lucky someone had a set in the UK. I also painted the wind screen and those are real steel wheels a bit heavy but they keep the rig stable.
