Default Looking to get into Scalers

I'm strong into on/off road vehicles and have the urge to buy a scaler. I've been watching a lot of videos on youtube of them and am falling in love! I'm not looking to spend a lot of money as it's my first one and want to get my feet wet although I don't want a piece of crap. Most like interested in a roller to keep cost down and I have a lot of spare electronics. Thanks for any input.

If u can find a cheap roller, get axial scx10. If u want to build custom, u have lots of choices. Best advice I can give u is to check out rccrawler.com

I'd go SCX. Parts support and aftermarket is strong. It's a great scaler platform. Re-sale is still decent. If you look enough you can find a roller.
Here's mine-
