Default xl-5 troubles

I have an axial scx 10 that I built I used a traxxas xl-5 speed control but i am having problems with it going into neutral. When i adjust it on my radio it changes nothing. So is the speed control bad or a radio at fault? Any help would be appreciated
thanks
josh

by neutral you mean the throttle cuts off when you are driving?

I would be willing to bet it's probably your esc. I had a vxl3 burn up so forward was about half power, and reverse didn't work at all. Good news for you is they are cheap to repalce, or even better upgrade. I have a sidewinder that I have setup with a castle link, they are so tunable it's crazy and you can get them for cheap used. I have bought two from here for $40 each, and plan to buy another soon.

if by stall you mean hesitates before going forward but goes straight into reverse..

I believe you have to reverse the transmitter signal for throttle, which will make it go backwards when you want to go forward, and visa versa..
Then you must reverse the polarity of the motor itself.. Then the forward control will make your truck go forward.

This normally occurs if you reverse the plate that the motor and gearbox is attached... allowing for dig units etc.

hope this helps
