Entry level Crawlers
 

Hey I am new to Rock Crawling and never purchased one, only driven a friends. What is the best entry level rock crawler that won't burn a hole in my wallet?

check losi's stuff,
the mrc is 249 and is a VERY good beginner crawler it is 1/18th scale
the comp crawler is 1/10 scale i cant remeber the price
the night crawler is 1/10 scale and i cant remeber the price

Ya the Losi crawler is a good starter crawler to go with.;)

If you want to run 1.9 then the Losi MRC is the only rig for you.

If it is 2.2 then you have alot of options.
Losi Night Crawler
Venom Creeper
Axial RTC
Losi Comp Crawler
Berg
Bully
Kyosho Rock Force

Some of those will break the bank.

yeah i agree. losiu makes a good mini crawler.

Since you're going to probably use your first crawler indoors and outdoors I'd recommend the Losi Mini Rock crawler. You can't beat it. It's not perfect out of the box, but with a few free mods and a couple of aftermarket accessories you have a crawling beast.

If you plan to run strictly outdoors go 2.2, but make sure you have a large and challenging rockbed nearby. The 2.2s will crawl just about everything so small rockbeds wont challenge them. And they're too big to be used indoors. Axial AX-10, Losi Competition Crawler, Kyosho Rockforce, and the Venom Creeper are all options.

If you're going to strictly play indoors and want a cheap solution there is always the Losi Micro Rock Crawler.

I would recommend the ARTR Axial AX10.

all the stuff already there, including alloy bent links etc. Lots of documents on how to mod. Heaps of aftermarket stuff.

No motor, esc or servo's but the RTR stuff is very very ordinary to say the least.

Entry level, the losi is the best choice all you have to do is drive it. the Ax10 needs to many mods to make it stable and not break

Always look at if you can get replacement parts and upgrade parts for the rig your looking at.:cool:

X2 losi is good but it needs work as well, once you build up your crawler it should be close to solid on not breaking

Losi night crawler would be you best bet, or get the comp crawler and get good electronics,

I can't believe the number of people that recommend a Losi crawler to a "1st TIME" buyer. They aren't bad BUT,,,,, they are using standard hardware, not metric which makes is hard to keep tools and "stuff" with out having more than the needed set of tools and extra fasteners. They've also got terrible worm gears and are more expensive in the end to modify.

Get the Axial Honcho or the RTC version, even the Venom Creeper is a good crawler that can hold up. check out rccrawler.com to get all the info you could want for crawling.
