Default Tamiya CR/CC-01 Thread

I have one on the way and IMO these are the coolest looking scale rigs I have seen . Like to have a thread on what you are doing with them along with any questions and experience people can share .

I have a CC-01! Its a VW Race Tourag, not a scale rig body, but I'm working on that....

my first mod to this is put the hpi gear reduction unit you will have to cut some of the platic to make it fit but it will make it a better crawler. also put alot of wheels weights

a cheap and useful mod for the CR01 is to use zipties to hold the cantilevers down to eliminate the slop in the suspension

Whats everyone's opinion on the Tamiya crawler. Is it a capable car or are there better out there that I should buy and put the scale body on?

I have a cc-01 jeep, with a 4 linked rear, GPM steering, cvd's and rear shock mounts, derailed C hubs, winch, jero rims, mud thrashers, brazed front bumper.

Love it, wish I could get more steering out of it, going to have to try some knuckles that have more ackerman settings.

They are a fun rig to work on and drive.

my CC-01 with traxxas waterproof servo, Mtronics Eco 20 waterproof esc, Traxxas waterproof reciever cover, Losi 32x1 motor, GPM steering system, RC4wd Mud slinger tires, Integy aluminum wheels, Copper on white Bronco body, Proline scale accesories and an axial y link. Shaved some areas on the front c channel to give it additional steering. Lots of fun with this scaler.

Does anyone know if the DF-01 bodies will fit on the CC01, mainly interested in the Repsol Lancer Rally 4WD.

Cheers
Adrian
