CORRC - Oval

First CORRC Oval Race is in the books.... Thanks to everyone that help in preparation for this event, thanks to all that came out to race, and special thanks to Lee for running the timing stand. A couple bugs here and there but all in all a great nite of racing. Race date for this winter season are: Nov 27, Jan 01, Jan 29, Feb 26 and Mar 26.

i stopped in before the race and ran a little bit with my onroad stuff. very good time.

Yes, a very good night of racing on the carpet. Can't wait for the 27th of November (day after Thanksgiving) for round #2. I'll get the series points up and posted here as well. All who raced and gave me an e-mail, I'll be sending the results to you directly.

For anyone thinking about giving this a try, the touring class was having a very good time. On the oval cars, we ran one of the new COT bodies set up with a 1 cell lipo and 13.5 motor and this will be a great class. It is the BRL / TOUR new stock class and should provide fun, close racing. If you have some older stuff, cells and 27 turn would fit right in.

The pits were nice and full, in looking around over the course of the nite, there were lots of places that could have been filled in based on our 2ft x 4ft. layout (I counted 10+ spaces), for the next race I will make sure that it is more obvious were people can pit. If this event continues to grow there is also provision to add another Bench, which would "technically" hold another 7 racers. Also we will work on something a little more "user friendly" for tire truing and cleaning.

Got the points updated and information in for the 1st oval race. I added your qualification run time in the column to the left, so you can track it as we go through the 6 races. Also, put the race winners time for 75 laps in the mains.

Let me know if there is anything else (other than fast lap, as I do not have that info) to add the sheet. I'll post a large version of this at the track this weekend.

I'll be there on the 27th, and believe Eric and Brent as well will be there.
