So I put a 13.5 in my touring car today and I think I need to gear it to the moon, I am at 28/72 and after 10 min of running I came off with these temps. Motor 101deg, ESC 80deg and Batt 75deg. I could only run it for 10 minuets because I got bored it was so slow. I really hope that we have some mod touring car takers this season. I thought touring cars were suppose to be fast

Default Fathers Day on road race

High Desert Raceplace kicked off the on road racing season on Fathers Day in the Checker Auto Parts parking lot at Teller Arms. The racing was very competitive and fun. Over the winter some racers came up with the idea of having a 13.5 motor / 36r tire class so this was the class we ended up running on Fathers Day. This motor and tire combo made for some very close and competitive racing. I had a small display of the off road cars that we race at the indoor track as well. Many spectators came by during the racing asking questions about what we were doing and how they could get involved. This was a great start to our on road program and I hope to see more racers come out and join us.

Default Road Trip

just wondering if any GJ on road racers would be interested in going to this race at IR/CR. I think that it would be fun. It looks like there may be racers there from Idaho and Wyoming as well. It all depends on when my daughter is born but this may be a race I can get to. If not it would still be nice to represent GJ CO and High Desert Raceplace at this race.

Default Denver Racers here 07/11/09

Looks like Kody Numedahl and a couple of other racers from Denver are going to be racing here today. So if your looking for something to do this afternoon and evening dust off your cars and come down and race

It also looks like Andy is going to tear up the track for a rebuild tomorrow. I'm sure he is looking for volunteers to help out.

See you all later

This is bad. I'm quoting my own posts. Over 1100 views and no one even says hello Oh well

I forgot that the Colorado State Nitro Championship race at Rat Raceway is the same weekend as this on road race. So far I'm planning on burning some nitro instead of racing on road. If there is anyone out there interested in racing at Rat it is a three day race Fri - Sun and I will probably head out early Fri.
Fri practice
Sat all qualifiers
Sun mains
I talked with A Team and he said that the race is usually over by mid afternoon on Sun so there is plenty of time to drive home.
Let me know if anyone is interested in making this trip.

Yes the track was rebuilt on Sun. I'm not sure if it was finished but I know they were working on it.

I stopped by High Desert today to see if the track was finished and it looks great. Andy said that he just needed to pack it one more time. The track should be fun it has a long straight and also some nice jumps on the infield. I'm going to have to get my 4wd going again.
I found out today that Andy is having a camera crew come in on Sat to shoot a new commercial. If you can make it out to race that would be great. You may even get your mug or at least car on TV. It looks like I will be insulating and sheet rocking my garage on Sat so I don't think that I can make it.
Don't forget the on road program will be going on at the Teller Arms parking lot. I think Andy is going to start setting up around 9:30 and races start at 11:00. I know its going to be hot on Sunday but come on out with your RV or ez ups and lets race. I do have to work in the morning but if all goes well I'll be there.

Default Greetings from the east side of the divide.

Heard lots of good things about High Desert, I can't wait to come out and see the new setup! I run a small RC shop in N. Denver that's all about the crawlers
We specialize in finding hard to find parts (and making what we can"t), as well as full custom builds. We are also hoping to get a couple classes racing in our outback track (still in progress). I would love any feedback or ideas for our track.
Its our first setup, but we have a good size space and all kinds of rock, logs, tires, and just random fill. Nothing as cool as the land bridge there, but we're workin on it

Any pics of the new track? We are trying to figure out a time to come up there again soon.
