how did eveyrone do last night?
Good! That's exactly what I ordered.

We had enough racers to split the LiPo class into two heats. Evs took first in the A with Dustin close behind. I made 2nd in the B which isn't bad considering the first heat was the first time I had ever driven the car.

the two front tire choices are 3 rib pre-scrubed or taper pins, both in the pink compound. I've been racing at mhor for a couple of years now. You will get about three weekends with tapers or several months with ribbed. I like to run slicks personaly front and rear.

I was going to pick up some 3 rib instead of the 2 but didn't see them in stock anywhere I looked. Do you just run some treaded tires down to get them to slick or do you buy slicks?

Tapers are the best for slicks, front and rear. They are the flatest, x's or proline don't make good slicks at all. If you drench the tires in wd-40 before you go out, it will ware them down to slicks in just a couple of runs. Or you can use a dremal tool to grind them down. (you will see alot of people doing the latter) There is a grouve that is about 2 feet wide that develops in the track. If you can't keep in that, don't dream of using slicks. I use them in 2wd stock and 4wd mod, I can't keep it in the grouve with 2wd mod, so I run treded tires then. Stock got too boring to run,(I was first or second every week) but mod is a huge ego killer. Running with Kody, Dustin and Matt just kills you. But, with Jess alowing a 13.5 class I feel that I can go back to slicks. 13.5 is called stock, but it's closer to a 19t motor. I don't think I will be so bored with that class. As far as 3 rib pre-scrubbed, Jess should have them. 2 ribs have to much bite and it unbalances the car. Enough that you will chase a loose car all night.

Friday night the track at mhor will be redone. Sat you can get on the track as early as 3:30, no sooner. But for tire choice, I use bowties for practice. When they do the final sweep before the first rounds, you will need to go to x's, holeshots or inside jobs. The Bowties will no longer work.(you won't need them again until the practice after the next track configuration) I will be there friday night to help out the track change. I won't be there to race on sat though. Not in the mood to get back to racing just yet.

Absolutely. I had a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to next week. There's certainly some technique involved.
