I was going to ignore this series, but with Morena Baccarain as the lead lizard lady, I'm in!

Sadly, yes, even though I have it on DVD too. Still a great mini-series. I hope the remake does the original justice. The problem is that the shock of learning they're lizards under their skin is gone. I remember being freaked out by then watching the original.

I would also love to see a Marc Singer Cameo, along with Michael Ironside. Both helped make V.

I just beg the creators to not pull a George Lucas or Michael Bay... Don't create yet another remake of something from my childhood where it totally and completely SUCKS!

Yeah I've been watching it. We'll see how ABC does it tomorrow.

So a few impressions after watching the pilot:

Thus far things have been pretty predictable

Totally called the the son being the "David" of this series

There's a lot of sex/role reversal. The lead now being a woman instead of Marc Singer. Anna instead of John. Have we gotten so PC that we absolutely cannot have a male lead anymore?

The symbolism is a bit over the top. The statue of Christ falling and almost killing the guy in the wheelchair? I took this as fairly anti-Catholic myself, Christ's falling from grace so-to-speak. Later he's "healed" by the Visitors? Sorry, other implications here...

Also, if the lead character ends up seducing or otherwise making the Young Priest leave the cloth it will be disappointing.

OK, I get that health care is a hot-button topic right now, but for crying out loud, do we really need aliens singing the praises of providing socialized health care?

Granted, there's a history here with the original series but I thought, for those who weren't familiar with it, they revealed the Lizard connection a bit too quickly. That was a major shocker in the original.

There were other things as well. I dunno but I am going to keep this one on a short leash.

I agree with the predictability. My first impression was okay this sucks. Second impression was they did in an hour what took the original series 10 episodes to do. And remember there was more than 1 V mini series. The first one the leader was John, but in the second Dianna took over, so that's where the female lead comes from.

I think Morena Baccarain did a great job. That look was just so damn evil!

Yeah, but that was all after "The Final battle" when Diana returned with the female visitor that had the English accent or something.

It was just...Meh...

This first episode wasn't a good start. Let's hope they get better.
