I bet they'd LOVE it... on paper. Never tried it, but isn't it hard to signal "slow down" at anything over a hundred?

I'm not sure which would be more fun... building it, or driving it. From what I can see, you are having fun doing it right.

As a kid, "Wild" Willy Borch was a hero of mine. A friend actually got to meet him, and Willy told him that if he didn't have the car square by 80, it wasn't gonna happen. Said that after that, the steering wheel was pretty much useless.

And, he drove with one hand Where do you buy pants, when your nutz are like cantaloupe?

Have you seen the repro of his car? Better cage, but they claim the rest is authentic. I wonder.

That rod is called "allthread" and is not even close to what you need in terms of durability, or precision.

Hit the salvage place, and see about some shaft and bearings?

That would do it.

If you can't find the channel locally, check Mc Master-Carr for both pieces, too.

Back to my nap

Oops, i wasn't clear. The car has been reproduced for Nostalgia Drags

According to the driver, it is too faithful a repro. In an interview, with him standing next to it, his fear of the machine was obvious in his body language...lol.

It wasn't even running, and his posture was that of a person standing next to a large dog that they didn't quite trust.

A clip of him driving (with both hands), showed that the car wanted him dead as much as Willy's did him.

Enough of the old days...

What's the target weight of your Vega?
