The lates edition of Rcca is a joke there are 90 pages of substance(or at least partial substance) and 225 pages of ads. O yes and they started giving away cars to people who quit smoking ROLMFAO.

This has always been a magazine just worthy for pretty pictures. Most of their articles have no real substance and their reviews are a real joke........... Have they ever reviewed anything that is BAD? If you read the magazine you would get the impression that a stock TA03 is just as good as a stock Xray T1!!

I actually find the ads more interesting!!

Yes, most of the article you see is about good part for the car....but they do put pros and cons on the final verdict...

few simple word...

but i dont think they want to mess with the manufactures...i think that the company is giving the car to them to test it out??

i m not really sure about this...

Don't believe me huh? Literally. They did, and published it in the latest(I think it's in the january 02). And the guy they gave it to wasn't a guy who had no car but a guy who had 6 or more cars. I don't get those guys.

How about the kid who E mailed in asking what they do with the cars and other stuff when they are done testing them.
He was rebuffed and told that they do not sell or give away the test cars and stuff.
In the next issue they (pete) gave away that nice r/c motorcycle to some guy who thought R/C motocross would be pretty cool.
The guy likes motocross bikes but they "give" him that 1/5 scale masterpiece "Road Race Bike"???????
I think RCCA should get their heads out of their A**es and Quit trying to feed us (the readers) B/S!!!!
We all know those "Test Items" end up in their personal collections! why try to Bull**** everyone!!!

Jam, accually.. wrong.. Most of the cars are kept for future use ( like for the troubleshooting section, where they answer questions, they always have pictures. Others become parts vehicles, and others just collect dust.

Have you seen on the December Issue of R/C Car on page 29, the Airtronics Limited Edition M8, they have an error. On the definition of attitude on the bottom/left, it says "attitube!" I think they were supposed to say "attitude" because that's what it says on the rest of the advertisement.

Aurra: I can only assume that "attitube" was the fault of Airtronics' ad agency and not RCCA. I have worked in publishing before and the final proofreading of all advertisements was the responsibility of the submitter. The publication itself just screened for objectionable content...

I see no problem with RCCA giving cars out whenever they feel like it. If I got free cars to review I'd probably keep some and give some away too. Maybe I'd make a sculpture of some sort. That would be cool.

True True Derek.
Although I really don't care what RCCA Et al does with the cars they are testing, they really should have been nicer in their answer to the young boy who asked a legitimate question..
And You also misspelled "none" in your reply.LMFAO!!
You must not have had your proofreaders check your post

So you go ahead and BURN all the cars after the magazine is done with the testing, Maybe that would be good footage for XXX main's next video

Hey I broke my leg, hit my head and smashed my face into a wall, can I have a free car cause I'm getting better now? Did you ever think that some of these people are b/sing you and just want free stuff(i.e. the guy who stoped smoking) O and yes I just quit my weed habit as well so how about it? I don't mean to be an Ahole but I am just trying to tell you that Rcca as of late(i.e. the 02 jan edition) has dissapionted me, and I'm sure that I'm not the only one that feels this way. Do you really feel that 225 pages of ads in a 314 pg mag is acceptable?

You know, I just resubscribed with RCCA on their website, I dont know why but I did. Then they send me an emai saying it will take 6 to 8 weeks for my subscription. Why is that? I used a credit card. I guess its a love hate thing.

That last issue was pittifull to say the least, the thick one where they did the so called touring car shootout thing. What a joke, they rated the newest cars first then make up some bs why.

You guys really need to think about this stuff before you rip on a publication for stuff like "too many ads" and giving away free merchandise. I'm not here to blindly defend RCCA -- I could list my own set of complaints about the magazine -- but the stuff you guys are saying is just plain wrong.

If YOU are given free merchandise to review, it is YOURS to do whatever the heck you want with it. Why does it anger you so much that they choose to give it away to some people? You probably don't know everything they know. They probably only printed an excerpt of the letter, they probably got in touch with the people in some other way, and even if they didn't, why do you care? Because you want a free car too? Get a degree in journalism and a job at RCCA, and you're on your way.

And the ads. You counted the ads in one issue of the magazine and compared it to the text and were outraged. Have you gone back and counted other issues? Did this particular issue have measurably fewer pages of content? Probably not. Seemed just like any other issue to me.

What's wrong with having more ads anyway? Oh no, you mean the industry is booming, even in the recession? Damn, that sucks. I like the ads, half the reason I read R/C magazines is to see the ads and see what new products are out there.

Anyway, like I said, I won't sit here and blindly defend RCCA (or any other publication) but I will say that these are absolutely illogical and unfounded arguments.
