But I will say it has lots of amagination into it.
As long as people understand it still is Fiction.
It seems to play on people's desire for a conspiricy about anything.
But I think Dan Brown is goign to laugh his way to the bank. Right behind Hanks and Howard...
Hope this movie will have people really seeking the Non Fiction Counter part to this Movie, instead of taking it as truth.
Let the flaming begin,

i read some review, they said its kinda hard to put the whole stories from hundreds pages of novel into 2.5 hours of movie. so the story is a bit unclear...
anyway, im not gonna watched it
We're planning on seeing it, my wife really enjoyed the book. I've heard the theories for years now. My first roomate was big on "confronting organized religion". It made having the local witnesses and such that went door to door lots of fun. He'd invite them in, pick their brains, and typically, either shake their faith, or irritate them into leaving. I just sat and listened, laughing at how bold his statements were, and he'd often know more about the religion then they did...priceless. What made it cool was we ended up with more friends than foes with our discussions. Some people would come hang out specifically for those conversations...
My hope is that the movie does the same for people across the country. I've already seen the attacks made on it. Sure, it's fiction, but it's tantalizing to say the least. Just the last supper painting is enough to rock the religious boat...

We understand the fictionality of it, no need to beat that dead horse.
What that movie should be accomplishing, is getting people to question things. Taking one's religion as infallible is unhealthy. In order to grow, and succeed, questions have to be asked.

Let me weigh my words very carefully. I like a good thriller as much as the next person. I think that the Bourne Indentity and Supremacy were fun movies. I wish that I could just say Da Vinci was just fiction, no big deal. But it bites me and would be no more fun to see to me than if it was a bunch of evil made up crap about your grandmother or mine. (I'm sure that you love your Grandmothers and I love mine).
My WHOLE life is intertwined in my relationship with Jesus Christ. I have three degrees, an associates in Biblical Studies, a Bachelor's in Youth Ministry and a Master's Degree in Pastoral Studies. It is more than a hobby or a fad.
I have looked at my faith from every angle and if I didn't find it reasonable I would have bailed on it years ago. But it survives every test that I put it to. Dan Brown had to make up lies, because the Da Vinci Code can't survive any kind of scholarly thinking. (Go to Amazon, there are lots of good books debunking Dan Brown's claims)
I have been in some 17 different countries, including Italy and Israel. I have walked where Jesus walked, where Paul walked. If you are seeking truth, I wish that I could jump on a plane with you and take you to the places that I had seen.
Below is a picture that I took in Rome. It is the Prison where Peter and Paul where kept. You can see it in Latin. Paul had been a persecutor of the church. He had wanted to destroy it. But once he met the living and resurrected Christ, he could not shut up about it, even though it would cost him his life. Same with Peter. You know Peter, the one that denied Christ and ran away. When Christ appeared to him after the resurrection he could not stop talking about Him. He also was executed for his belief in the risen Jesus. You can't go hardly anywhere in Rome without seeing evidence to Peter and Paul. The only reason they were ever in Rome was the ministry of Christ. They HAD to tell other people the truth about Jesus.
Even though I did not see the resurrection, I have physical witness to eyewitnesses of the resurrected Jesus Christ and it changed their lives.
This truth is too important to take lightly or joke about. It is life and death important. If Christ is who He claimed to be, it is most important event in History. Please don't belittle Him. I earnestly challenge you to look at His life, words and actions. Open the Bible and look into His loving face. He will meet you there. (The Gospel of John in the New Testament is an excellent place to start!)
God bless you, (I mean it)

Well,Im a lutheran going into High School and next weekend I get confirmed. I strongly believe in Jesus and his teachings, and I know that there is a God and a Holy Spirit. The "Da Vinci Code" makes people think, and it lets them rebel a little to something big (Fight the Power), but when the day comes to a close, I know that my soul rests on God's side. Jesus was holy and he was the son of God. Thats that.
Loved it. Best film I've seen in a while. Of course your mileage ma differ (it's that kinda move).
I have mixed emotions about the movie. Don't get me wrong I loved the book and was pleased with the movie I am just not sure how much I would have liked it had I not read the book. I think the book offered a much fuller/better story (although some parts were a little mundane) but then again it wasn't limited to under 3 hours. I do think the movie could have "connected the dots" better but again I went in with some bias.
On a 1 to 5 scale I would give the movie a 3.5 to 4 while the book would get a 4.5 to 5.
I completely agree that the book mixes fact with fiction, I also know another popular book that mixes fact with fiction - it's called the Bible.
what part of the bible is fiction...scolars have tried to disprove specific parts of the Bible and have only have found coral heads growing or artifacts that are in a line across the red sea...lots of these people that devote their life to disproving it usually end up believing...i am not saying that the Bible has no fiction...but if you state that it does...prove it
