Default Beach RC - Myrtle Beach, SC

So I was in town for work and decided to drop by on Wednesday evening (Club Racing) and spoke to two gents that worked there.

Seems like a top notch facility, and really excited about their OnRoad track in the back that's coming up in May.

I'll be back several times in the next few months, so will bring my 1/10 2WD Buggy with me and try to get in a few laps in as well.

Great guys, definitely check them out if your in the area.

Just happened to have been there myself on Wednesday to check out the new on road track. it appears to be about a 40X100 pad of nicely installed asphalt. Looked really smooth and level. Just hope they fence the side that is adjacent to the pond. Could be some drama there. I will check it out again next month when I'm down there.

Yea I would think either the Driver's stand goes there or a fence of some sort. I'd hate for my ride to get punted and into the pond .

I hope to be traveling back/forth for work every other week and will probably end up bringing a buggy/battery/limited tools for the Wednesday night action.

So I was in town this week as well and this time I brought my 2WD with me. Wow what an eye opener! Waaaaay off pace haha. On the plus side it was a great way to spend a Monday-Wednesday! I met two more employees of Beach RC and I can't say enough good stuff about them.

The facility is definitely top notch and their customer service and willingness to help out definitely was a big plus! I'll definitely be back and spend my money there in the future.

I won't be back in town until next Wednesday but am curious about progress with the on road track. Has there been any? Any provisions for keeping the cars out of the pond?

They've made a lot of progress on the OnRoad track. They have the drivers stand where the pond backs up to so not really a easy for the cars to go in the pond. It's hard to explain but if you go on their FaceBook page (Beach RC) you can see videos of the new track.

Loving my weekly Mon-Wed track sessions there hah.

The track is ready now they have the first layout down. Just waiting for the treated wood to truly dry before they paint it

Saw it today. No photo's though. Standard jigsaw layout so far. Surface is really smooth with some natural undulations in the substrate which could provide action if you get off line in the last 1/3 of the main straight. If you clip the inside of the last right hand sweeper off the straight there is some potential for winding up in the pond but plans have been made to provide a catch fence. Right now the fresh Asphalt is sweating out it's natural oils while curing so traction is what it is. Should be fun to drive never the less.

The hobby shop is building inventory for on road racers. Saw lots of F-1 kibble today including bodies and tires. USGT tire sets available as well, even some HPI VTA rubber which is starting to pop up on shelves again in area shops I have visited.

Best way to stay informed with Beach RC guys is to go on FaceBook and like their page Beach RC & Hobbies. They are very active on it.
