Hi guys.
One week until Snowpocalypse 2014.
Hopefully we're getting the typical weather out the way this week. It's brutal out there at the moment.
Did everyone notice that the track opens at 5pm on Friday. That's a big improvement over previous years. Should help build up a bit of a groove ready for round one on Saturday.
The KARZ crew is really looking forward to hosting another Snowpocalypse it should be lots of fun.
I personally have raced recently at ATS Calgary and WCICS Penticton. Both superb events. I hope we can make next weekend just as enjoyable.

Unfortunately I can't make this leg of the series, KARZ always puts on a great race and am sad I can't make it (personal and family issues to deal with)
Good luck to all the Saskatoon members that are heading there, and wish I was one of them.
Have a great weekend everyone!

You will be missed Ryan. Hope everything's ok at home.

All right, club rep votes are in!
There's no other way to put it, but the overwhelming response from the clubs is that they are VERY happy with the way tech and qualifying are run. The proposed changes were small tweaks, nothing major, but the clear message is that the clubs and their racers really like the straight forward IFMAR qualifying format, and the fairness of tech.
Honestly, that's just great news, it really confirms the WCICS format, and I thank all of the reps for their quick responses, hard work, and dedication!
We're always listening to the racers and making improvements every year to make this series the best it can be!
In that light, we've had some racers ask if they can reuse tires. Well I'm happy to report that starting at the Karz race this weekend, the clubs approved if a racer wants to reuse tires at a future WCICS event, they can! Here's the details:
1. You need to bring a sealable shipping bag. It needs to be the padded plastic or cardboard envelopes with the tape seal that can't be opened without tearing the bag (available at your local shipping store, we recommend UPS Country Hills of course!).
2. After your TC mains is done bring them to tech, they will put them in the envelope and sign across the seal. You take them home. At the next round present the sealed envelope to tech and they'll open it and mark the tires for that race. You can put one or both sets in, and use them at any future WCICS round this season.
That's it!
Two changes have allowed us to make this possible. First, thanks to Sweep Tires wonderful rim printing technology, next years tires will have "25th Anniversary" printed under our logo on the rim, and after that we will have the year printed under our logo, so there will be no problems with people using tires from previous seasons (in case the compound changes).
Second, this year I started purchasing the entire season's tires (600 sets) at once, so they are all from the same manufacturing batch to ensure the entire season's tires are identical across every event.
I continually hear how WCICS racers like the spec tires. They last forever, are a great $30 price, and the proceeds from the sales go directly to support your local club!
In addition, most clubs run Sweep as their spec, which keeps the club racing fair, and so it's a great way to get a great deal on tires that you're going to use all season at your club.
I expect most racers will want fresh rubber at each round, but for those that don't, we now have a nice cost effective option.
See you this weekend, Happy Racing!
