The tires will be handed out usually friday evening. Sometimes saturday morning. You can buy 1 set per class or 1 set for both classes. They will be marked by a race official and must be used for all qualies and mains. Can run whatever for practice. As posted above they are $30 per set. Hope this helps.

In the first post. Is "Open" a class in wcics?
#5
Open is to allow the club members that run open on Friday nights a chance to come race also. It is Nascar's demo class.

There's a couple options:
If you would like to run the new style Camaro body (or any other body), you can run it in GT (silvercan). Same car, open tires, you still run with all the CTA's, and with no weight limit GT cars are very competetive and have won in the past.
If you want to run CTA, there's the list of acceptable bodies on the USVTA website, so you'll need to go back 40 years and grab the vintage Camaro. Not that I'm trying to make life difficult for you, but with CTA please keep the vintage spirit of the class in mind, and keep it fair for the other racers; the CTA bodies are all fairly heavy, other non-CTA bodies can be much lighter, perceived aerodynamics, etc.
So just depends on what you're more attached to, the body, or the motor, lol.

So disappointed I'm not going to be able to make it to Edmonton this year. Work is getting in the way yet again.
Always one of the best races of the year. Have fun on those five carpets.

The WCICS reps have approved the motion. Silvercan's will be allowed to qualify and finish anywhere.
Please remember, this temporary change is meant for new racers. PLEASE remember, the spirit of the class is ORCA spec racing, and I trust everyone who ran last year to keep the spirit of the class and continue to run the ORCA's. I don't want to burden tech with checking the WCICS results from last season (who all ran ORCA's) and making sure everyone who ran last year is still running ORCA, so this is on the honor system.
Since John started it: ORCA's are slightly faster than a normal silver can, but Red Dot's ARE faster, we know this from the original testing when we were evaluating spec combo's to switch to.
So again, this is an unfortunate situation caused by ORCA's product cycle, and this temporary measure is to help NEW racers, so I'm encouraging everyone who has an ORCA system (i.e. anyone who ran in the last 3 years) to continue to use it. Anyone specifically switching from an ORCA combo to a red dot is NOT competing in the spirit of the class.
