Thanks everyone!
Thanks everyone that made it to the Calgary WCICS finals!
Over 60 racers with 176 entries in 9 classes including our F1 and Mod Mini demo classes! Great racing in every class and definitely a great atmosphere the entire weekend!
There are so many people to thank so I’ll just do my best:
- All the racers that participated! If it weren’t for all of you, we wouldn’t have an event at all.
- All the participants coming from out of town from 10 different cities. Now that’s truly a Western Canadian Series!

Winnepeg: Tasso and Jerry
- Larry for a great job RD’ing the whole weekend
- Eddy for posting the results so quickly
- Rick and Scott for helping man the tech table
- Canteen staff for providing us meals
- All the volunteers who not only got the prep work done with track setup on Thursday, practice on Friday, helping out on Saturday and Sunday during racing, but also the Sunday afternoon clean up of the Horseshoe Club after the race. Definitely impressed on how our club came together to help out.

Final Ironman Points Tally for entire series – Chan 3305 : Carter 3296
(If only including top 3 results in each class - Chan 2067 : Carter 2066).
That’s it for the Ironman for me. Went a bit overboard for this race. Kinda wanna spend some time setting up a car in between races. At least I proved you only really need to know how to charge, sauce, race, marshal and repeat many many times and still have a fun and stress free weekend. Thinking about only 4 classes next year per event. We will see.
I personally had an awesome time not only racing but also marshalling and chit chatting with anyone I can get the chance to. I was very fortunate to have only one bad breakage from running past the finish line and straight into the boards during qualifying without hitting the brakes but that was a few minutes to fix. Other than that I was quite surprised to actually find so much time doing other stuff away from my pit table, like bugging Larry all weekend.
There were definitely lots of laughs all weekend. Definitely thanks to some of the guys that help volunteer marshal for me on my back to backs. I just can't be at two different places at once. Also thanks Erwin/Joe/Steve for loaning me a great car/parts/setup for TC Stock and Erwin/Aaron for getting the F1 ready for me to race.
Thanks again and have a great summer!!!
Ivan
ps. final standings to be tabulated soon and will be sent to webmaster.

Totally bummed that I wasn't feeling well this weekend. I was really looking forward to some ridiculous mod mini action. The 6.5T made my car nearly un-driveable. Fun! Odd thing was looking at the results, the mod class was WAY down on laps when compared to our regular mini class. What happened there?
Thanks to all involved for making this weekend a huge success. Let's keep on growing WCICS and show those guys in Ontario where the REAL national RC racing is at.

It's also possible the mod mini guys were just screwing around.
