Yes, the tires are marked as they're taken out of the bag in front of you. They must be purchased at the race.

Anybody know a price yet?

Also I take it that Niftech is Citrus based?
Maybe this is a dumb answer, but I thought it was alcohol based.

Adam, I think you are right. I kind of thought that it went against the main series rules from the get go. If Niftech is alcohol based is it not allowed? What about the Muchmore traction compounds? Are they OK?

So nobody can tell us what the tires will be sold for at the race?

I remember there used to be some kind of traction compound I bought at Great Hobbies about 5 years ago that smelt like cotton candy, I couldn't stop sniffing it, hahaha, it smelt so good. Is that bad? lol. Maybe the rules should read "citrus/odourless/cotton candy based only".

Adam- Yeah the on-road club here imploded, but it will be back soon. The new President and VP will hopefully be at this race along with me. We probably won't have our first race until November 1st, so we won't exactly be practiced up, but we'll do ANYTHING we have to win. Hahaha. I don't know what kind of carpet we'll be running on either, probably something like what KARZ is running, or our old soft indoor off-road carpet, which would mean having to modify RC18T bowties onto TC wheels.

Hey, Guys.

If anyone is interested, I can bring in a shipment of Jack the Gripper for you. Today's shipment is already sold out - 56 cans - but I can turn it around in 7-10 days to you with notice. Shoot me a PM if you would like a bulk order (only), please.

Phil

This thread 2009 Kamloops Mid-Winter Challenge is for the Kamloops mid-winter challenge and it says on the first page that only citrus based compounds are allowed. And it lists niftech as one of them.

Paragon Traction Compound is not allowed.
Someone needs to clarify.

Niftech is TOTALLY odourless, but it's not citrus based.

Well if it illegal then probably a good 1/4 or more of the racers last year were using illegal traction compound at all the races. It is in the odorless group of traction compound. I am not the only word on this but I would say it's fine.

Niftech would be fine for use in Edmonton as use at normal club racing.

Club Exec. still waiting to hear from the tire source on pricing for this year.

Does Jack the Gripper smell like Oranges? News to me!

The original point to the series was to get away from Paragon, at the time the only other compound was the TQ brand, which was "Citrus based" again we are talking years ago.

The term "citrus base" was carried over through the years but does not really apply anymore.

It would be updated to "odorless"

I am sure a WICCS Rep will clarify that the series allows both Jack and Niftech along with the ONLY Citrus based compound- TQ ( if you can still find it)
