I don't disagree with the driving skill....Espescialy since i watched Mike Tapp take a Kit Slash this summer and beat the Mod Corr trucks. My whole point is that you shouldnt have to spend a ton of money on electronics for a Mini...and by having a weight limit it should discourage the excess spending. Like I said it's just my opinion....in a club majority rules...I can live with that.
True to some degree. Who would prevent me from spending a ton of money for a mini if i can just add weights to be within the limit? The rules are set so that everybody is on the same level in the playing field, not to prevent excessive expenditure on a car. I would suggest following TCS rules and if possible, place a weight restriction on the class.

Mini mania, 13.5 touring and Formula 1 is going to be a hit. We shall see.
Place is in Richmond. I think I had posted the addy somewhere in the frt page
Thanks for your reply Chris...also do you guys get many 1/12th's out? Do you think WGT(200MM 1/10th pan) will have any interest? I have both and so does Denning. See you soon...Storminnorm...

Not to sure yet there Big G...... work is kinda slow so i might have to dust of the old 415 and show you boys what vintage is all about!!! but i had a blast running on rubber so i might just keep it that way this year!! im either getting old or lazy, havent decided yet.

1/12 was the little class last year, seemed to get busier as the season went on. There were always 2-3, sometimes as many as 6.

I've heard Ken Chan is moving the Xray 1/10 pan cars at a rapid pace, so WGT may be viable.

RE: buying an edge with Mini. Who cares? Theoretically it's the beginner or "fun" class. If someone wants to "buy" a trophy in such a premium class, let them. As long as they want to laugh with the rest of us when bumper cars happen, I'm cool. If they want to be uber competitive super jerks, that's where I have an issue.

Exactly! If anybody wants to be competitive let them, as long as they are not going to be a jerk before, during and after the race. Show everybody that you can be competitive and have fun at the same time.

I myself am thinking about getting one since I have my old electronics now to use on a spare car, and running those minis are a ton of fun , but I'm also leaning towards the F104.

Default The best electronics!!!!!

I can't speak for everyone but Crazy and I did Not spend very much money for the Chill at all. My batteries are almost one year old and my motor has an entire summer of trophy racing on it (run very hard and very hot). I used one set of Jaco Blues the hole weekend including practice and racing. Everything Crazy used was borrowed! If you want to go fast then study the lines, try new gear ratios and set-ups and pick one car to run (foam or rubber) and Practice. The most important is ask questions like gear ratio and set-up.

It could be the gearing? Not sure just felt so slow. Im sure i will figure it out.

Can't we all just use the same ESC , battery , motor , pinion and spur. And then we will see everyones true racing skills. Im in would anyone else be interested??

I have been out of TC so long now I have no idea what tires to run on carpet for 17.5 class. What was the hot ticket for rubber tires last year in 17.5 so I have somewhere to start?
Yes I will be running VTA and 17.5 rubber ( I have no foams and don't want to run foam or I would run a faster class for tc in rubber).

hey Rob!! well a few weeks ago i ran at the big chill and used JACO blues. it seems that this is the spec tire for most big races in north america. i actually found them to work really well so i think you should try them out. Martin @ golden horizons has them for about 35 bucks. glad to see your gonna make it out

Has a weight limit been set for the Tamiya Mini? I recently bought a M05 pro and I would like to race that this year. I have already bought the Reedy 2400 lipo batteries but these things are super light. I just want to make sure that there are no issues. Thanks!
