Exclamation RE....On road R/C race

IMPORTANT!!! SEE POST # 44 FOR MORE INFOTMATION

We, "NASCAR" have decided to try and revive the "EDMONTON"
summer on road race !!!!! by presenting the 2009 .....

ASPHALT ATTACK

Race Date Sunday August 16 2009.

Proposed schedule

Friday August 14...if there is interest we will spray the track and open by 6pm. Earlier if you want but the track won't be prepped.

Saturday August 15...The track will open at 8am. for open practice and registrations all day. Sat, will be practice only so we don't conflict with the Edmonton offroad racing schedule. Bring lots of tires as it won't be dark until 9pm.

Sunday...track will open at 8am. for late registrations. All qualifiers and mains will be run on Sunday. Race start time and number of qualifiers will depend on entries.

Race director...Mandie Mah.
Competition director......Terry Pickrell, Unless I can deligate it to some one else.

We tried last year to have a weekend race and there basically no interest. we will try once more!!!!! we have chosen this date as it does not seem to interfere with any other events.

Proposed classes

Touring super stock..19t or up to13.5 brushless, rubber tires
Minimum Wt...1500g or 52.5oz

1/10 pan and world GT......4 cell no motor limit foam tires.
Minimum Wt...1100g or 39oz

Silver can GT....Touring car and 103GT, rubber tires.
Minimum Wt..1500g or 52.5oz

Track location, Thorncliff school approx. 175st and 81 ave. straight south of West Edmonton Mall. I will post the exact address later.

We are open to other classes if there is enough interest. 4 cars to make a class IE...Mini???? We are hoping to get enough interest to at least hold a race. So far Saskatoon, Calgary, and Grande Prairie have expressed interest. This is not an invitational it is open to anyone who wants race on road.

Race entry fee.....FREE, ZERO, NADA, ZIPPO...Sorry we cannot pay you to come.

Please reply to this post if you plan to enter as soon as possible. ????Post any questions you have???? I will have some hotel info later.

We are working on some sponsored prizes. So far Standard General Inc has offered some sponsorship.( my boss doesn't know that yet) More will be named shortly.

More to follow. Well we have planted the seed, hopefully it grow!!!!!

How strict are the battery regulations going to be?

I don't have any ROAR approved LiPo's

Though, my hard case LiPo's seem to weigh close to the same the LiPo's are 360 grams

Since it's a Sunday, I might actually be able to make it!

Though, I'm not sure what a 103GT tire is like...

But at least, this time, my 13.5 shouldn't come apart!

Default ASPHALT ATTACK

Hi TJ

Looks like the interest is there for a good weekend of racing. Good to see that you have made a schedule to compliment the Saturday outdoor off-road race.

We had a real good time racing in Grande Prairie at the street race, and with the number of racers, we had almost enough prizes for everyone. Power Technologies LTD. will donate prizes for the ASPHALT ATTACK race. I will send you a PM to discuss prizes.

The 103GT is a Tamiya model that is legal for silver can class (2WD) as well as any (4WD) touring car chassis. We are just specing it as rubber tire class.

I'm probably going to come to this race. Are you guys going to setup registration on rcsignup.com? Any official word on class details yet?
