Last summer we rented a hockey rink for a race, huge super smooth surface, it made the regina wcic carpet (48'x90') look puny
This year we'll use this carpet 48'x90' and add 2 or 3 more 12' strips of carpet to make a world level sized track, holy cr@p!!!
Avonlea is 1/2h south of Regina, Sask.
there is a small motel and local town bar within "stumbling distance" from where the track will be, and a campground 10min away
The race date will have to be confirmed, for sure will be held on a weekend in june or july
I should be able to supply a decent amount of prizes, if theres enough race entries maybe even some electronics or a touring car kit?, other sponsors will surely chip in some prizes
Rules will probably be something like following wcic rules just to keep it easy
just awaiting on a confirmation that theres noboddy else renting the rink, we were talking about doing it on the weekend of july 17-19th
as far as track layout i think we could easily get 72' wide
90' long for 48' with the other 2 pieces of carpet being around 70'
if more people wanna go with a 150' long straight added onto that -then so be it MUAHAHAHAHA (gotta let out a evil laugh after typing 150' straight)
id like to hear from some people who would be interested in attending as to what they would like to see, Fastraxx has a couple carpet rolls to pick from
At a local track we tried running 60' wide and some people (including me) had a bit of difficulty. Part of it was the track design and part the height of the drivers' stand, about 2'. A higher stand would help.
All in all, I'd prefer longer than wider, perhaps 125x60.
I am thinking it is going to be on July 17-19 as for places to stay there probably will be some room at some peoples houses for those who don't want to stay at the park or the motel in Avonlea or a Hotel in Regina.

after our last race its been loosely decided upon to have a track thats 60x120 should be big enough? isnt too wide or long as you wouldnt be able to see the ends of the track, and 120' is still pretty big almost rivaling the asphault we settup in the summer
