wow, as for the racing all I can say is, IT WAS GREAT!! 2wd Buggy Kicks ass. Really like it.
As for nitro, looking to fund my brushless system right now. Got a new Team Magic 8Brs, comes with only 1/2 a race on it. No motor just a roller, but ill through in a reciver pack, and servos just to push it.$350------ Local only
Also even with the slight critisism, i did some research and the Hyper 8, is still one of the class leaders in 1/8th buggy, and Has alot of national titles under its belt. So im going to roll with that and just wait untill i get the right running gear for the 8t 2.0 untill I can get the good stuff
Q: Nitro Diffs????? No clue what im looking at, re-doign the diffs??? Any help would be great.
Cheers guys

Well apparently a missed an awesome day of RC racing...Great to hear, but crappy i missed it.
Kelowna boys had a blast, probably a good thing that they had some fun with all the fires around kelowna.
Curtis, yes buggy rocks. As for diffs, go to the website for the car, and look at some of the setups their drivers use. usually the thickest fluid in the middle, and the front slightly thicker than the rear...like 5k, 7k, 3k fr to rr. Ask RJ too.
Ren, you know you like it...it is great having you back at the track again. Whether its behind the wheel, behind the mic, or just to bring out a coffee and mossy around.
Ok, see you boys Wednesday, I will probably be out there early. think i have a date with a weed wacker or something. Plus I'd like to be able to break in my new motor finally.
"Redoing diffs", probably means changing the oils in them. If you had any leaks in the diffs there is probably no oil left. (common occurance)
You can tune the cars handling with different oil setups. Common diff oil setups are typicly 5/5/3, that means front/center/rear, and 5000/5000/3000 viscosity. For smooth hi traction tracks, thicker oils work best. Loose and bumpy tracks thinner oils work better.
Newest generation light wieght drivetrain cars like mine work better with thicker oils then older dated cars. I run 7/7/5 or 7/10/5.
I googled this site with setup info for ya. You might want to consider better tires, yours had a bald strip on them http://www.ofna.com/forum/viewforum....0ba1e3af8a3e01
Hyper 8 a class leader...? Maybe not now but if your not going after corcs champoinships then the car will be fine.
BTW: losi 8 won the usa buggy nationals today, rc8 won truggy (only because of the driver) Adam drake won the 45min main with only 3 stops!
I was blown away how many people showed up today! Thanks Ren for your rd'ing.
OK, I'd like to thank everyone who turned up for racing today. You guys were awesome. Everyone pitched in and helped make the day go well. Thanks expecially to Dustin and Aaron from Kelowna - those nitro beasts of yours are FAST !!! But perhaps more than that, thanks for the great attitude and willingness to pitch in and help, be it calling races, or helping anothery competitor sort out a glitching problem. Everyone made it a great race day.
All in all, a really good day. Seven trucks in SCO, Five Open trucks that we ran with a Mod 4wd buggy and Curtis's new XXX buggy to make a field of seven, Five entries in Nitro (although only three made it through to the main), and then six entries in Truck 19t.
Short Course saw some awesome battles between eventual winner Dustin Quanstrom and Daryl Herman - Daryl falling just two seconds short of proving that old adage that "old age and treachery can beat youth and talent". Tom Beckett brought his Slash home to his first podium on only his second race meet.
2WD Truck open saw some great battles between Aaron Matlo, Clay McLean and Ken Carroll, while we started the two buggies about half a lap apart from the trucks. But for the main everyone went by their qualifying times, letting Greg John and Curtis Pruski into the action. This saw a fabulous four way battle between Aaron, Clay, Ken and Curtis, who clearly found the 2wd buggy suited his style very well. Aaron took the win in the end, leaving Ken to hold of the charging Curtis to the line. Unfortunately Clay's truck didn't make it past lap eight, or he'd have been right in there too.
Truggy, or simply "Nitro". We saw Aaron put in a tremendous qualifier with his new buggy, and we were holding our breaths to see if he would crack the track record. Awesome speed, awesome driving, but when the dust cleared Dustin still held the TQ by the smallest of margins.....and proceeded to blast away from his competition in the main, only to come to a halt just short of the five minute mark, and withdraw the truggy from the race. No idea what it was, but it was obviously terminal. This left Aaron almost a lap ahead of Gary Fielding's Truggy, and he seemed to be able to move steadily away in front....only to flame out . Quick work in the pits saw the orange buggy blasting out onto the same lap as new leader Gary, and proceed to hunt him down, only to flame out again a few laps later. This time he emerged nearly four laps down, and despite setting some blistering times along the way, he was only able to make up about a lap as Gary took care to stay out of trouble for the last five minutes of the race. Gary the winner by just under three laps.
Truck 19t had been kept for last - I suspect to ensure everyone didn't slope off home before the nitro main. It was a rivetting race. TQ man Martin Vann elected to start from the back of the pack, and we saw a close early battle between Brian Lemaire's Rustler (looks like rubbish but it goes like hell) and Corey Atamanchuk's Slash (running in 19t because he had regular 2.2 race tires on the back and one of those wicked "Mad Scientist" motors....also because Tom Beckett was running it in standard forn in SCO....). Collisions at the start saw Brian's Rustler off the track, letting the Slash get a good lead - more than the full length of the straight - with Brian and Tom (Losi XX-T) leading the chase. Martin had driven straight off the track at the start, making things even more difficult for himself, but soon moved up past Tom to challenge Brian....who wasn't having any of it. These two battled for several laps, gradually closing on Corey in the lead....then Corey was upside down, both passed, both crashed, and it was Corey darting back into the lead with about a one second lead with about two laps to go.
Then, the last lap.....Corey turtles under the pressure, Brian is through, no, he turtles too, and it's the late starting Martin that has the lead over the triples with just three corners to go...but with Corey and Brian all over his back end. Over the 2nd tabletop, into the corner that leads back down towards the straight....there's a truck stuck in the track....Martin goes straight in, I think Corey went over the top of them both (I knew there had to be some benefit to those big skid plates and bumpers !), and Brian went in too...So for the last two corners it was Corey Atamanchuk wheeling the Slash home well ahead of anyone else. I don't think Brian or Martin had even got untangled when he crossed the line for his first RC win ever. Brian came through about 20 seconds later to take second, and Martin another dozen seconds later for third. Tom Beckett came in fourth with a truck that kept stopping late in the race (guess who was stuck in that corner?), probably with a hanging brush, and that was it. What a finish !
Honourable mention goes to two first time racers, "Kenz" Povoas, who took fifth in SCO. Watch out, he has the speed, now all he needs is consistency. The other was Cody Marelli, who put in some very respectable times in 19t with a Rustler. I hope we'll see these two again - they have great potential.
Thanks again to all of you... a great race meet is made by everybody, so thanks to you all.
thanks man, YES 2wd buggy rips. Its something that doesnt cost tons of cash for beginner drivers to break....
New motor you say.... so new motor for you.... and your old motor makes a new motor for me????????? HMMMMM when can I pick up..
LOL
Hope your enjoying youself and yes you missed a great day to show off. The ktown boys came to bring it and they brought it. Really enjoy'd having them here. Learnt lots, and have the time of my life. It really cheered me up to have that fun. Had a rough couple days, and I would like to thank EVERYONE that made today brighter for me
Curtis

I want to thank all kamloops for puting on such a great day, I had so much fun today gave me a chance to try out my brand new xray xb808 2009 spec buggy and break in a brand new motor. too bad I was too cheap to put a new glowplug in for the main, I knew it was almost done but at 15$ a plug I thought well how bad could it be. I want to thank all my kamloops pit people that kept that car going and helped me lay down some great times, I feel this buggy will do very well for me in the last two corcs races and what a difference from my 9 year old mugen mbx4 lol.
also I hope more people join me in buggy I love truggy but long live the buggy, in my mind it is the F1 of rc still, nothing matches the sound of a 1/8th scale buggy ripping at full throttle.
Martin, great to see you out and get more than 10 laps I felt so bad for you at corcs such bad luck but you did great today. ps martin, did I hear correct that in the main I had 1 lap that was a low 22sec lap I know I kicked off a bunch of 23's but I almost pissed myself when I though I heard I got a low 22sec lap, hard to hear on the drivers stand also I must admit I was in a zone lol.
hope to see some of the kamloops people in van on august 7th, should be great fun, most of us are staying at the poco inn, if not I will be back for corcs kamloops. I might get in 1 more club race before then hard to say things are crazy busy right now.
till then, cheers and thanks again for such a warm welcome day.
Well it was a good as i expected. TVRCRC has an awesome offroad location.
I like the track too. this track is definatly not a highspeed track, more about precision on the infield. I managed to pull off a TQ in truggy and a win in shortcourse, Aaron took a win in 2wd. Aaron with the scorcher Buggy lap times (22.1 was the fastest)
The demise of my beatiful engineering marvel ( XT8 09 spec ) was a broken rear bearing carrier . I was not even slightly phased by this catastrophe. I had already proved my point with the TQ, so i was not mad at all
I was more than happy to just help out Aaron with the 808, Man that thing is sweet and fricin fast .
Awesome day guys. To bad we couldn't have kicked Jasons Butt though. there is always CORCS for that LOL Just playin Jay

I wont be up on tech night this Wednesday, ill be framing a house in barrier for my girlfriend dad. But I will be at the track Sunday doing maintenance. Anyone else up to volunteer. The off set jumps need some work, nitro really does a mumber on them. As well TON of weeds to be took en care of.

well, I had planned to spend the day at the track...however my big car seems to have other plans for me today. I will try to get there tonight, but may need someone to give me a ride.
As for the smack talk...I'm not worried, there are only a few of us that can walk the walk.
Dan, definitely in for pitting you in Coquitlam. I believe there is supposed to be a club race on the Aug long weekend...may end up being monday though, and mostly onroad...but i want a day to test the RC8T before Coquitlam, so maybe we can work something out.
