there is lots of work still to do in Kamloops, but the good news is it is comming along. Brent and I have spent several hours cleaning up the weeds and pit area... lots still to do.
THANKS BRENT & YOUR DAD... you are keeping my hopes of racing in Kamloops alive!

BRUSHED all the WAY!
"racing since the 80's an XRAY was something you needed when you broke a bone."
Kamloops "River Family Festival" race is on Sunday July 28th. We will be setting up from 7:30 am onwards. Registration will be 9:30 to 10:00 am, and racing will start at 11:00 am.
This is a demonstration race, and will attract a large number of spectators. There is no entry fee, (and no trophies, either), and will be run as a club level race.
The track is pavement, with a slightly different track design for "On Road" cars and "Off Road" cars. Essentially the Off Road cars will take several jumps, while the On Road cars will detour around them. The track will be about 100ft x 60 ft, and will be very similar to next year.
Confirmed classes are: Monster Trucks (gas or electric), Touring Cars (Electric stock) and Off Road Trucks. If there are enough Nitro Touring Cars, they will have their own class....if only one or two show up, they will run with the electric cars. The Off Road class includes both trucks and buggies, but no 4wd's. Stock motors only, please. The Monster Truck class is intended to show off the T-Maxx trucks, which are so popular in Kelowna. We hope several Kelowna drivers will be here to show what their trucks can do. Locally we have an E-Maxx and a Monster Pirate, to make up the numbers. We will also have a 1/10th Gas Truck race if we have at least four trucks entered.
All electric based heats will be 5 minutes (qualifiers and mains), while Nitro based heats will be 5 minute qualifiers and 15 minute mains.
This is a really good opportunity to display our sport at its best to a very large number of people, so please, lets have a good turnout !
For you guys who live close to Memphis TN and enjoy travelling to races to compete for trophies and prizes here's a big one!
Classes:
Stock Sedan(rubber)
Mod Sedan(rubber)
F-1
1/12th 4 cell stock/8 minutes
Nitro Sedan(.12 or .15 only/NO BIGBLOCKS) all races are 5 minutes except 1/12th scale. More rules are on the link below.
Sorry you can't make it, Pit Bull. We have at least one local T-Maxx signed up, and also a 10GT, in case anyone else wants to run 1/10th Scale Gas Trucks.
is there any races on saturdays at RCRE because i went there expecting a race but there was nobody there and i live quite far from RCRE so i dont want my parents to drive all this way for nothing plz reply
The new Kamloops pavement track is virtually ready to go ! The drivers' stand is complete, and the track is painted in. The 1st club race is August 11th, followed by August 18th and August 25th. (Gotta make up for lost time !). Races in September will be posted shortly. These will include the Kamloops Fall Classic, making a return to On-Road format after a two year stint as an Off Road race.
The "River Family Festival" demonstration race went off fairly well. Thanks to all drivers for a good turnout, including two from Kelowna. The race was delayed initially when the City failed to provide the safety fencing we had requested. The River Radio station came to the rescue with some strategically located banners - and then took them away again before the Mains ! This meant no Monster Truck main, which was a shame. The "E-Maxx" had out-qualified all the Gas vehicles, and it would have been interesting to see if it could hold them off over a 15 minute main. The electric races were all completed, however, and everyone seemed to have fun.
Must have those fences next year, though, or we won't be able to do it again.
Hey guys.....here is a picture of the newly completed on-road track here in the "Loops". We put in 3" PVC pipe around the perimeter of the track (not shown). Different paint this time as the actual "line marking" paint that we used on the other track dries up the ashphalt and cracks the surface. This is a smooth latex and went down easy with no problems. Drivers stand is completed and painted and ready to go. All that is remaining is the loop and a starting grid and we are ready to "Rip Up The Ashphalt"
Talk to you all soon!

Here is a partial view shot from atop our "to be" Race Control. Our track perimeter pipe is now installed and the Transponder loop is also in. (not shown in pic.) More pics as we complete the final details.
