Hi Ren, It's been a while since I heard from ya,
There seems to be lots of tracks opening up in Alberta, that's good. If anybody is out in Manitoba, don't forget to bring your gear with you. Our off-road track opens up June 10th. www.geocities.com/midcanadarcautoracing
Stuart.
what's happening in Kamloops??? Is there any word on when the asphalt is going in? I have not received any e-mails from the club so I guess.... "it's in the works?"
Sorry... but it's been a very long time since I ran my TC

I agree with bulletman, what is happening with the on-road track? In general what is going on with the club. Some of us would like to know when we may start to race this summer. Let us know. TTYL DOUG
As soon as we have any definite information we'll let everyone know. Brent is handling the move of the Drivers' Stand, but he is away this weekend due to serious illness of a family member down in Vancouver.
I suspect the paving has been delayed by the wonderful weather we've been having recently.
Anyone who made the A-Main at the Canadian Nationals last summer in Nitro 200mm Touring has a good shot at getting a spot at the 200mm Touring "World Cup" event (especially the top-5.) Here is the press release from the organizer:
*REGISTRATION UPDATE*
The split for the 150 car total will be 80 for the .15 Sedan class, and 70 for the 200mm Pro Touring class. Currently, all of the .15 Sedan entries are in!
To be considered for the IFMAR 1/10th 200mm World Cup, send your racing resumé to:

Well.....it's finally done. The drivers stand in Kamloops has been successfully moved over to the new race site. After 9 hours of hard, labouring grunt work, the drivers stand was split into two sections, raised by jacks, HUGE timbers and overall prying up to a height of 3 feet. A tandem trailer was carefully skidded under one section and then strapped down and moved over to our new race site in Vallyview. This procedure was done for both sections of the stand. Once the new deck is installed, extending the top of the stand to it's original 24 feet, will be our drivers stand for the new on-road track. The other section was placed in between the two tracks so that it may be used for our Main Race Control.
A "BIG" thanks to Walter Wende, Doug Martin and Greg Arvidson for all their hard work and time spent in what turned out to be a bigger task than first anticapated!
Now we must wait for our paving to be done. Also in the next couple of weeks, we will be working on our deck and leveling off the Race Control stand. Still lots to be done, but once it is finished, I am sure it will end up being better than our last race facility.
Again, thanks to those who helped in this enormous task!

Hey Boyz......The new track area here in the "Loops" is now free and clear of all weeds. If the weather holds up like it has the last couple of days, I can see pavement being layed down real soon! This baby is going to be bigger than I first thought. Should be around 120' X 60". In the meentime, I have been cutting and bangin nails, closing in the one end of the drivers stand and building a platform so that the stairs will reach the ground, now that the drivers stand is 2' higher. There will have to be a small ramp over to the track and a small set of steps down to the pit area. A bigger job will be extending the deck on the drivers stand now that the original one is split in half. Anyway, things are comming along it will just take some time before we are fully up and running. Will try and get some snaps for you all. I'll keep you posted!

I took a couple of snaps of the area which will be the new On-Road Track. Pavement still to come. Not the greatest quality (no digital camera yet).
The building on the right will be the drivers stand, once it has been extended another 12 feet. The small building on the left will be Race Control between the on-road and off-road tracks. What will be the Off road track is off in the distance.
