If you don't find your T3 fast enough, you should probably just go for the mod. At least with truck mod, it is a very competitive class and you will have lots of people to race with fairly.
Be aware though, mod is definitely harder on everything. Your batteries need to be in great shape ( and probably at least 3000s ) ; the motor wears out faster, so you will need to buy more brushes, and find someone to cut your comm every few weekends ; the truck itself will also take a lot more of a beating, the faster you are going, the more parts you break when you crash.

I know when I got my first mod in buggy.. it was only a 15 turn and I still managed to break my car just about every run on the first weekend I had it (Kelowna). The extra power is a lot to learn, especially when you have jumps to deal with.

Do what you want, but I would recommend coming out to our first offroad race and racing in stock truck before you make any big decisions.

Giuseppe.......couldn't resist it.

Torgs et al....If you turned up for racing with a XX4, I'm quite sure the guys would let you race. We're not in the business of turning racers away. I agree with them that you'd be better off with the T3....but that's up to you. Be warned, however, about moving to mod class. Not only will you need really good batteries, you'll also need a suitable speed control. The new one you bought would be OK for mild mods like Rob's 15t, but it won't handle the 12t or 11t motors that you'd need to be competitive.

I saw the "most wanted" column too.

Talking hey dustin

Hey how are you..it Blain here....I know for a fact you cannot run anything more than a 15 turn with the esc you have (if it is the same one I sold with the truck) I was wondering what you were doing with your truck?? anyway I think you should race stock and learn just a little more bout racing....ren can teach you the smart way to race..believe me just get behind him in a race and follow him...he will lead you around the best part of the track and just as fast as anyone else!!!!!! I did it and learned

Default Truck and mod truck

Dustin

There is a lot to learn about running mod. Stock is very much an all or nothing class...either full throttle or no throttle. I really enjoyed racing stock truck but had a hard time moving up into mod. Still having trouble.

As for your success last year, the one time that you finished really well was with the Interor RC truck. your truck went well as well but you still were borrowing stuff to keep running.

Get good with the T3 with maintainance and making it go fast, because mod will be a big step in the both. As Melnyk and Rob said, it costs money and time to race and be competitive in mod. Don't be in to much of a hurry to move up. Someone wise told me once to "enjoy the victories while I can get them, because moving up to mod will be like novice all over again". So in other words enjoy the winning streak while you can, because wonce you move up you will be won of the slow ones again.

The T3 is a very quick truck and carried Ken, Rj and I through 3 seasons of competitive racing. I will be running mine for a fourth season this year. The T3 is no slouch when it comes to going fast, it will go as far as you can take it and then some. You will never out-drive you T3, it will always go faster.

Yea, i think i will stick with stock. I will run my T3 this year. I will also run the XX4 if i can in some races in buggy stock. Blain, the T3 is running better then it ever has for me. ive replaced almost everything on it. its VERY fast even with my same old P2K motor. i have 500$ to spend at interior rc on my truck so im gonna make it even better for stock racing. Its gonna be great. I cannot wait for offroad season to start.

Talking so you don't want to sell now???

damn you had me counting pennies

was thinking I could get it back while saving up for a MT
anyways let me know but email me do not post on here
racerbca@hotmail.com

we might be able to make a deal

also if you do end up keeping it just remember what i said about getting behind someone like Ren...he will lead you around the better part of the track....when everyone else is trying to do the doubles and crashing he was going over each jump .....I caught on to that and we finished 1st and 2nd.....me being 2nd of course

Default what about April?

April will be out again in stk truck and running her T3. I'm not sure about the motor yet but I think that foe now I will stick with the P2K she has be running all season. Seems to be quick enough to make everyone want the fastest motor that Ren can get in.

If Dustin really wants to run that xx4, then I guess that I can put my Cat 98 together and give him someone to race against. Apparantly Stu will have one too.
