Default One week and counting

hey everyone

There's love in the air so you all know what that means...that the Mid-Winter is only a week away.

I hope that everyone is getting their cars ready for a weekend full of racing and fun. Hopefully some guys come from the coast to our race too to inrich the competition even more.

Have a great weekend everyone, I'm off to Vancouver. Yes, I know that it isn't quite as wonderful as Mexico, but it will have to do

P.S. If any wants to send flowers to someone special on Saturday but can't do it in person...Call Prestige (Well Save-On Foods anyway) and ask for your flowers to be delivered for you. Ren has a fleet of vans just waiting to light up your wives' faces

See ya

Well Ren, at least they both enjoy racing. They can buy anniversary gifts down at the store.

Five-7....I take it you are referring to the Thunderbird Rally ?

Yes, in the end we didn't do so well. We were in 7th place (out of 63) at the end of the first day, despite having been stuck behind a Horse Trailer for a while between Chase and Squilax, so we had high hopes for Day two. It started with a long stage (nearly eighty kms), and R.J. was driving really well in very tough conditions, and even keeping on time where I didn't think it could be done. But then, 67k into the stage, he turned in just too late at a hairpin, and we skated out onto the snowbank on the outside, and there we were, high centered with all four wheels out of contact with the road. It took us 40 minutes to dig it out !

We had to by-pass the next stage to get back into our time window, so that was it in terms of any kind of result, although we did complete the rally and make it to the finish. It was a big disappointment, as I think we had a real chance of a top five position in what is perhaps the most prestigious TSD annual rally in North America. The results will be up on www.rallybc.com in a day or two.

Brief note: our Kamloops Novice Rally will be on June 12th this year. A compact route, with about 85% of it "competitive", and no "car breaker" roads, either. For those of you thinking of "having a go" this year, remember that we have to have a letter of permission from a parent or guardian if you are under 19, and also a letter of permission from the owner of the vehicle if neither of the crew are the owner. For the rest of you, (please, please), I will need control personnel to help make this the best Novice event in the province !
