8.3.2.7.1-3 DISQUALIFICATION will be the result of not following any one of these three charging guidelines:
1) Charging Lipo packs with anything but a charger capable of the standard Lipo CC/CV charging method.
2) Charging a Lipo pack to any voltage higher than 8.44v
3) Charging a lipo pack outside of a “Lipo Sack” or other device proven to contain a destructive failure involving flames with at least a 5000mah 7.4v pack.

The rule regarding the 5000maH is the ability of a sack to contain a meltdown of at least 5000maH, not if its under you don't need one.

If the clutch nutz want ppl to use the lipo sacks to charge up the e-class lipos, why is their a debate about it? Just follow the rules, and if you don't like them, stay home. All the complaining about not being included in this race, then when the class is allowed complaining about the rules that need to be followed. Simply amazing.

+1 for Gary for actually understanding the rules.

And for the record cell phones use Lithium Ion batteries not lipos. Huge difference but some don't understand that. Those are the guys at the table across from you charging without a lipo sach !!!! NO THANK YOU !!!!!!!

If lipo sachs are required and you really don't agree with the ruling then by all means go out to the parking lot set them on the floor of your vehicle (1:1 vehicle that is) close the door and charge them there.

thanks Gary i had placed the lipo sack comment not to cause contraversy but to simply warn people so it would not be a huge shock when racers show up at the event and are informed that the sack is manditory for charging RC related lipo packs in the pits. The chargeing and sack rules are the added bonus. Thank you again Gary.

I wish I knew about the LIPO sack rules earlier...Looks like I will need to find one or rethink my battery choices.

Clutch Nutz needs a Winter Nationals rules section on the website, this is a crappy find this late in the game. Especially since they claim the CORCS rules are the ones to follow...but CORCS doesn't require LIPO sacks.

I would surprised to read that. Are there any sanctioning body/organization that does not require LiPo sacks for charging LiPo's? I don't know of any...it's pretty much the standard.

The CORCS rulebook http://www.corcs.ca/CORCS/Download/2...ule%20Book.pdf

No where does it mention LIPO sacks. These are the rules that are continuously referred too.

I will follow this rule but wish had more notice of it. 3 days then springing this on sucks.

I stand corrected. I wasn't aware that lipos were being used in phones yet. LG doesn't tell you the battery type anywhere on their website unlike some others.
Good to know if I go shopping for a new cell.

I see your point...but I would make the assumption that it hasn't been updated since LiPo's were instituted. They are required everywhere else so I fail to see how this would end up being any different. That's just me though.

Have fun racing guys!
