The Mini Class is a Spec Class of Front Wheel Drive Tamiya Mo3 or similar cars. I'm not positive but isn't an rs4 a 4 wheel drive car? I wouldn't be willing to race a 4 wheel drive with a front wheel drive. Just my opinion.

If anyone is up for Mini this weekend, i'll race with ya...

BTW... Mini class is Tamiya Spec only (MO3/ MO4). No 4wd mini's are allowed... If you want to run 4wd mini, runt with the stock guys...

Anyways, the new 2008/09 OGR winter Poster will be posted up tonight, and it will be sent to the LHS in throughout the Lower Mainland.... Hopefully this will get more ppl (new/experienced) out to our races...

Hello fellow racers OverGeared Racing is Proud to present 2008/09 Winter/Spring Championship Racing Series.

I'm going to be coming out for Mini racing and bringing two new racers with me starting from the december race. There may be a chance that we get out this weekend but the chances are limited.
Watch this space regarding new racers starting up on the mini side. I know I'm looking forward to it.

can you guys give me a bit of advise on tire, foam and motor break in of our new cars?

Cheers
Dan

I'm very familiar with the Mini website, what I was looking for was advise on what local racers are running.. ie. are you running the kit tires on carpet or something else? are you double stuffing the front tires? and what is the best way to break in the kit mabuchi motors?

I'm running kit tires on the front and super grip kit style tires on the back. As for break in ...... up to you, glass of water and a couple batteries or just run the motor in the car.

I was just looking at the one ten drift site....they had a good idea of posting their schedule on Craigslist under the Groups section. trying to draw old racers, new racers and some spectators. I'll do this for us with the OK from the Overgeared Crew.

No foams allowed.

As for breaking in the silver cans, I water break it in and then just run crap out of the motor. Don't even bother cleaning up the comm and brushes. (I learned this from Troy- North American TCS Mini King) If the motor gets too dirty just rinse it with water....

Another way of breaking in the silver can, is run your mini in the rain... I discovered this method by accident and it actually worked. Just remember to take your mini apart afterwards and clean it up (bearings).

Hey big Gord, thanks for the Craigslist info...I'll make sure I will post up there.

Oh BTW, there are no battery limitations to the Mini class... If you want to run lipo, go for it... Just remember the minimum weight for the Mini's in the points series is 1400 grams. This rule will be enforced. And if you want to run HPI Honda Civic body or any other bodies other than Tamiya, I am cool with it. In fact I would like to see a variety of Mini bodies out there.

And mini guys, race with honour. There are so many ways to cheat and make the Mini's go faster. Remember this is a fun class for Novice and experts. I don't want to police every Mini out there.

Hope to see everyone at the track this weekend.

Any ideas as where to find a reasonably priced camp table in the winter? Or does anyone have a spare they want to sell?
