2008 Canadian Winter Nationals

This little SNAFO with the entry fees is going to cause alot of headaches. Additional payments, people dropping 2nd or 3rd class because of the cost.
Sure hope you guys have someone with good accounting skills.
I can understand the cost of putting together a world class venue however the increase has made me reevaluate the number of classes I will be entering
This will be my first Canadian Nats but definately not my last

I dont know we run 18's and 10th scale electric trucks indoors all winter the snow hasnt even fallen yet and already there is some of the guys saying "MAN i cant wait for the Nats" I was going to run 2 classes and now possibly a third for the extra bucks if we get better racing out of it GREAT To think about it we spend what $50-$200 in fuel to get to this race.. an additional $300+ on hotels and food for the weekend... it really doesnt seem unreasonable to charge a couple extra bucks for a race. If it makes the race possible then so be it! These guys put on a heck of a show every year and bless them for giving ALL a good time and they do thier best to make this happen. Im just glad to be able to go to a venue as huge as this.
P.S. Sorry for the ranting.

Entry Fees
Gentlemen, the cost of the entry fees has changed for several reasons none of which I am able to discuss at this time. For those of you that have entered I am going to say that you may have to enter again. I will ask the person who is in charge of the pay pal account to refund your money and then there will be no confusion. After we finally open the pre-registration you will all then be allowed to enter again at the final entry price. Until the site is updated, all information is correct and we are ready, then and only then will pre-reg begin. We have been working on this race since the last one ended and intend on providing you with the best race possible at the 5th Radio Control Canadian Winter Nationals. Please be patient with us and allow us the time to get it right. If you have questions ask them in this forum. Your views and comments help us to provide you with the best race possible. If all works out this year you will not find a better race in all of Canada. We have heard from some of the best teams in RC Racing of their attendance for the 2008 race and if they all attend you will be hard pressed to find another race of this quality and professionalism. Check out the official website for news and information as it comes available.

One suggestion comes to mind...
I'm sure it was mentioned after the 2007 race, but the speaker/sound system will need to be improved for the spectators watching the races from the bleachers. I remember watching the A-mains from the bleachers last year, and the speakers weren't loud enough for anyone to follow the leader board and RD commentary. That should be an easy fix though

Yeah like "Have fun" and "Enjoy racing shoulder to shoulder with some of the worlds best" and stuff like that! The .5 race will be a lot of fun to be in and watch, lets not bog it down with rules and regs.
As for the cost....well yes it seems high but it just goes to show we have been spoilt over that last several years. The Clutch Nutz Club has covered the shortages several times and now have raised the price to reflect the real cost of this world class event. Hats off to you guys. During this time they have also surged ahead at their home track to make it the best well made track in Alberta. Take a bow. If anyone wants to complain I will gladly trade your fee entry with ours!
Just can't wait... Check with Darcy at HO. for the next meeting so you too can join the Winter Nationals Design Team!!

i still find it funny after all these years. willing to pay around $2000 for a good set up and then bitch about race fees. why complain. these guys have enough to worry about. they dont need to come on here to justify the fees as well. heres an idea. the complainers can put the race on and charge only $25 for race fees. the rest can come out of their pocket.

Practice fees
Any thoughts on what the Friday practice fee will be?
#56
If I am not mistaken Friday is part of your entry fee and Thursday is taken at the door. Marty will clarify in the future. Still 4 months away.
