Lets get talking about this series again guys. We are about 3 months away from the Edmonton Race. I have sent our clubs requests and info to the other reps Via snopro 2 monhs ago. I have not seen or head anything since expect he was awaiting responces from others.
I see by the recent reviews on the brushless motors (Stock and 19T) they dont seem to be as close as people seem to think especially with one mag calling the 19T claim a "Lie"
Anyways I wanted to get this rolling because in Edmonton we are starting work on our event.
Thank you
Matt
I agree....new season new thread.
Anyone know what other confirmed dates are yet? Edmonton was a blast last year, I'm looking forward to this season.
Thanks for the info, mjm. It's kinda sad that you're not getting any response, but thanks for your efforts at least.
I hate to say this, but if nobody else is interested, perhaps Edmonton should decide on the rules for next season. And I'm only half joking.
Your right it is sad. I dont know why they other clubs or their reps are not wanting to be involved in the discussions. If any of them want to talk I can be emailed directly at mjmartel@shaw.ca or I can be PM'ed here. Lets get the ball rolling and get things moving.
The brushless motor issue is a lot more complex than it was in the spring, with the newer laster lines being released and the reviews saying they are not competive with brushed motors. Especially the 19T.
Teching is going to be a nightmare if we run everything together. maybe we should have a brushed stock & 19T and brushless 13.5 & 10.5
Just tossing the idea out there, but from what I've read lately they just don't compare anymore.
That is a great idea, but it is going to add 2 more touring car classes to the series. Could the series handle it, Probably. Will the brushed classes suffer? I am sure they will. Does that matter to anyone?
IMO I just want to have the series sorted out and I was hoping to by July. This way guys could starting making plans and purchases with a little more time in advance. We all know by now that the new Brusless and brushed motors are not going to work together.
Does the series need to limit the total classes held at each event?
If so which classes stay and which go?
Just my thoughts and ideas to get the ball rolloing again.
Here is my input, although Matt will just make fun of me
4 Classes
Brushless stock (will be ideal for all skill levels and even out the playing field)
19T touring (no change from previous years, and since mod is losing popularity this class will grow)
1/12 stock (brushed)
1/12 open (anything goes)
What would "brushless stock" mean? Any 13.5T motor?
I'm not trying to start a big debate - more just want to know what to try source as a product line to support guys in the series. I need to get some leg work done too!
