Default R/C Track/Club Insurance

I am looking for some feedback from some of the other track directors/club presidents regarding liability insurance.

1. Who do you use for insurance?
2. How much is it costing you?

Thanks for your replies!

standard base line of $2 million is min. now a days. a few things come into factor, are you only racing at one event(facility) if spectators, is there enough safety measures between the action and them, equipment covered(computer, ect). if you are on private property then i'm sure the owner would like a waiver signed by all participating, have a sign or signs stating use at own risk and the club is not liable ect... insurance companies are becoming harder to deal with than the old days, if all above is stated and most insurance companies will ask for this then insurance could start around $800 and go up from there all depends on what type of coverage you need but that should start you up. to give you an example we hold a few races at a large mall in calgary (outside) including the mall on the insurance policy so our insurance is used first before theres it costs us $180. for that event. hope this helps

Thanks for the info Kerry.

Our track in Grande Prairie is what I would like to insure. We hold our regular club races there, so we'de need an ongoing insurance policy, not a one time thing.

Any further info would be greatly appreciated from you all...

Thanks,

no problem the one time thing was just an example. we pay around $1200 a year for full coverage including our trailer.

Default Insurance

I am an agent for the co-operators in Ontario, I was able to insure a few of the tracks here in Ontario, namely Fastcats.

I can't tell you what their paying, but feel free to email me at my office.
I can probably set you up with an agent out there in your area.

[email protected]

Thanks
Grant

we had a terrible time getting insurance because the insurance companies don't understand R/C, but with Gary being in the hobby and an agent he was able to pitch the whole idea to them and he did literally save us thousands of dollars, give him a call.
