2014 Asphalt Challenge
First I know this thread is for CA but ur right next door.
It's that time of year. We had 167 entries last year and I'm guessing it will be a lot more this year. If you are close to AZ, it is a great race to attend.

The racing at the GILBERT AZ HobbyTalk is some of The Best "Grass Roots" type of racing you'll find anywhere - GREAT People, having a GREAT Time...and never underestimate the fact that they race in a shopping center parking lot - there's some serious Talent in this group - and these guys know how to "Keep it Real" and have a great time.
I am hoping to get a chance to make it over during this years event - last time I was there it was still a ONE Day Event that started at like 9 AM - and went on til WELL after Midnight - (and I had to leave early - driving from the Cal Central Coast ALL NIGHT - and Too Many REDBULLS to stay awake - I couldn't function on race day --- will make better travel plans this time if I get to make it!)

Its in front of the hobby town usa store on a large flat parking lot. We blow off the track followed by spraying soda with a weed sprayer to get a even spray.
Any class can be started as long as there are three cars to race.
Im a pan car guy. If u sign up on the website ask the same question one of the sedan guys will respond.
We usually have 17-25 classes running on a given race day.

Hi Jason,
When you say sedan I'm guessing you are talking a touring car class. If so, we have a bunch of really good drivers that run the road course. If you go to az-rc.com, you will see the rules posted for the classes under the AZTracks HobbyTown Gilbert track section. Here are the rules for the class I think you would be interested in:
Road Course and Sportsman Class Specifications
Body Specifications: Any Touring Car Body
Tire & Wheel Specifications: Rubber
Chassis Specification: Any 4-Wheel Drive Touring Car Chassis
Motor/Speed Control Specifications: 17.5 Brushless or 27t Brushed (No Boost) Battery Specifications: Battery Specifications: 2 cell LiPo or 6 Cell NiMh
Race Specification: - 4 minute qualifiers - 4 minute mains
