Anybody know what tires hook up at Controlles Chaos and Rainmans? I have a T4.1 with a 17.5 in it. Thank you.

what part of SoCal are you in? I'm in north OC, Bakersfield is probably the furthest drive I have (about that 2.5 hr mark).

I'm northern SoCal, lol. I'm up at Vandenberg AFB, about an hour north of Santa Barbara. Bakersfield and Hot Rod are both about 2.5 hours, most the rest are 3. Palm desert and sdrc are closer to 4.5-5.

Matt, you should embace your lacation and change it to Cali Coastal Wine Country, and be taking advantage of that.

I should be there for 6 out of 8. Maybe make sdrc, went down for the cure race in October and had a great time.

Haven't done much wine stuff yet, it's on the list. I've been here almost a year.

Do it. If you need some suggestions I can help, hell if you want a guide I'll meet you in Paso Robles or Santa Barbera.

They both use the same tire unless they change how they run the track from last year. I would suggest
jconcepts bar codes in the orange compound front and back
Losi taper pins silver front and red rear.
Losi bk bars silver front and red rear.
Panther switches in soft in front and super soft in the rear.

Regular open cell foam in front
Proline 2 stage open cell foam in the rear.

Those tires will work at hot rod hobbies also. (last round)

For Panther tires at Rainman and CCR I would suggest softs all around or Med soft up front and softs in the rear. SS will be too soft for the hot weather I would expect for those two rounds. We did run SS at the JBRL finals but it was cold and damp in the morning rounds.

I ran them SS in the rear at Rainmans last year and did ok but it was cooler for the mains. I agree with you on the soft compound Casper, you would know better them me on those tires.

I tried SS at Rainman for a run and they worked just burned through them super fast and felt there was not as much speed. For dry hard tracks I like Softs. I feel they produce the best speed and wear. I will tune steering with MS or S fronts. SS will work just don't feel they are the best in warmer weather. If track is cool or any moisture in the track SS are really good. My truck was on rails for the main on Softs all around. I had the truck to beat in the main just did not drive well enough! I think I blew out with a few laps to go and tossed that race away. It happens!
