So are the spec tires all the same compounds just manufactured by different companies?

I'm not 100% sure, but they are Lilac compounds.

I'll check again...

Im just wondering if say one brands spec tire gives you more steering or rear grip etc. than the others. Or are they all basically the same shore tire from brand to brand?

Either way ill probably pick up a set of the CRC's from you tonight so I have something to test when I build the car after Christmas.

Any chance of extended hours the week after Christmas? I know a lot of people are off work and would love extra testing time!

BSR and CRC's spec tires are using the same shore and same wheel.

I haven't tried the Jaco Spec, it's been out of stock for long time.

I think they are pretty much same...

Extending hours is depends on my company's schedule....

I'll let you know. Thanks.

No problem, just curious! You need to have some time to relax!

Trying to understand 1S lipos, are you guys running separate batteries for the servo and receivers, or using a voltage booster?

It all depends on the speedo you are going to use. Speed Passion EX series support 1s natively so you don't need a booster or receiver pack. All of LRP speedo's released after the SPX support 1s natively as well. You will need a booster or receiver pack with the others. I personally recommend getting a booster that way you don't have to spend time ensuring that a receiver pack is charged and I've even witnessed some drivers experiencing issues with packs that won't take a charge after being used a few times. There are only 2 boosters that are worth looking at, 1) TQ Booster and 2) RCDynamics Voltage Booster with the RCD device costing a bit more. I know drivers that use the TQ Booster (I have one myself although I don't have a need for it at the moment) and they haven't had any negative experiences with using it.

Thanks Fred,
I plan on running the tekin rs, from what i recall the software now supports 1S lipo's, or maybe this is just for battery cut off? My only other concern was running the servo for 1/10, since they are rated at 6.4V. Can they be run at 3.4V(with obvious loss to speed/torque)?
between the two i will definitely be running a booster if needed!
Thanks

The Tekin RS requires a seperate reciever battery or booster!! And I've used the Jayco specs and they work fine.
FYI-- I use the RS in my car!

Mostly they true down the tires for the race.

Out of the box, the tires are too big..

At first, I true it 54mm.

52.8mm is good for the racing.

You can start with 55mm at first and you will see.

If you adjust your ride hight and rollout--you can get away with a larger tire. It's capable of running SEVERAL race days. I ran one set 3 complete race days--and it can still go one more!!!
FYI

Anyone want to post their setups for various cars? Just so we can get an idea of some starting points?
