Any 1/5 scale racing going on there? I built a Baja 5B SS, ported the motor, increased the compression, modified the suspension, modified the steering, messed with just about everything on it and now I would like to see how it holds up to some competion.
I've been a professional mechanic kicking around Redding since 90. I might know you?

Welcome ~
Hey there Butch, I'm one of the local Redding racers and one of the club officers at Rattlesnake. Our local track is not nearly big enough to race baja's nor is it designed for them. I too have a baja (5t) but I've only run it on the track two or three times as it's causes to much damage to the racing surface. So we really don't encourage it. To my knowledge, you and I are the only souls that own baja's in the Redding area. At least I've never met anyone else locally.

Currently I practice (Baja) at a private track in Anderson and race in Lake Port, Ca. Lake Port has a 1/5th scale track built specifically for baja's. The track is called Thunder Valley RC Park. They have a killer baja facility.

If your interested in coming to our local club races, we race on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month? We race 1/8 scale nitro buggies and truggys, 1/10th scale electrics, Short Course Trucks and anything else that shows up. lol Come on out and see what we've got going on. It's a great facility and a great group of racers.

Regards,
Tim Bollmann

Hi Tim, Thanks for the info. I'll try to make it out there sometime to watch. I have a couple of 1/10 scale brushless monster trucks but I think they are too high COG for racing.

Come on out and see what we've got to offer. We are always looking for new people. Even just to watch.

Hey Mike, We are indeed running on the 21st of November. We race every 1st & 3rd Saturday of month, weather permitting of coarse.

If anyone is looking for a weather report and track conditions they can post up here and I will try to predict the weather as best i can. I can probably guess the weather better that the weather reporters. lol Just Kidding.

Post back here around the 18th and I'll give you my best weather guess and the current track conditions. Look forward to seeing you guys.....

I hope this helps. Thanks, Tim

The track is open everyday for practice at no charge.

There is a hobby shop on site however I'm not sure what the hours of operation are?

We have a new Rattlesnake track. The County shut Mel's track down so we had to move it. He is still involved and racing every 1st and 3rd Saturday. Bob Bradshaw is also still involved and racing the same dates. Come on out and race.....

I got a slash turned into a Backslash. I like to see if it will clear all the jumps. I am sure it will have no problem. And then I have my Nitro sport that is set up. Love to have an 1/8 scale just no luck yet.
