Great Weather and good fun...

That's what we had this past Sunday at the RACES in NIPOMO.

Doug "ODIE" Morrow set up a simple road course that was a lot of fun for the VTA cars, and we went back to our 'Softer' Soft Walls for the oval, and had a little less car destruction.

Chris Anadon keeps getting faster in both the Nastruck and Touring Oval, but in the NASTRUCK class, ODIE was the truck to beat.

Tom Kendall had his "Stock Car" hooked up pretty well.

The VTA cars had James Jackson taking the field for a walk.

The next race date has not yet been set...but I'm going to see if we can get it on SUNDAY May 31st.

For those who didn't get the email From Joe M

Quote:
Since I started doing the races in NIPOMO I've targeted the 1st weekend of the month. We've done this now for roughly 18 months...

I'm changing things up a bit for a while. This will help with my schedule a little, and might also allow for others to join us.

I sent off our LOCATION Application to the NIPOMO HIGH SCHOOL / Lucia Mar School Dist.

I am still looking into other locations, but for now NIPOMO is working out pretty decent.

The dates applied for (which should not have any reason to not be approved) are as follows.

ALL SUNDAYS:

May 31
June 28
July 26
Aug 30
Sept. 27
Oct 25
Nov 29
Dec 27*

* The December date may or may not happen, as I am usually in Arizona during the holidays visiting family, but I scheduled it just in case those plans change this year.

I probably won't have the confirmation from the SCHOOL by the May 31 date, but I will be showing up that day to race regardless...as I don't see any problem with them giving us the dates.

Also, THANK YOU to James Gray and the local flying club. It looks like we've got our own portable toilet on the way. This could help raise some $$$ to go toward NEW track barriers, and stuff.

Default Onroad and Oval racing this sunday may 31st

There will be racing in Nipomo Sunday May 31st for anyone interested in racing this weekend. The racing will consist of electric only, oval and onroad racing. This is some pretty laid back racing, anyone is welcome, we have everyone from novice to experts out there to race with. Track blown clean and provides plenty of traction for foam and rubber tires. Track opens around 9:00 for open practice and racing starts around 11:00. For any info PM me or go to centralcoastrcracing.com

Hey Strangers,

Orrin sent me an email, i figured id reply here. Sorry for my absence this year so far, the race days have been unlucky for me, i think i had issues with spring break, then superbowl before that etc. Cant make it this sunday cause its my turn for vacation now! Hope things are going well and maybe i can get out there in june.

Hey Mr. Webster!!

Hope the restaurant business is holding on!!

We've switched things up a little bit for our race weekend...trying to keep things going.

The hobby shops are struggling pretty bad, but hopefully they can stay alive....

Today was another great day of racing in Nipomo with some very pleasant weather. We had oval and onroad racing with oval being the most popular classes. Thanks to all those who came out today especially the oval crowd from out of town traveling to the race. I will let Joe give his run down of the racing but I took some pictures today to post up here.
