I don't think we need a raceday before the 6th, more just some practice days. I agree that foam tires running on the track would start the groove forming quickly, especially the World GT cars (they have HUGE rear tires). I am sure after a day or two of running, the grip level will be good.

I plan to run a 1/12th pan car and I have a World GT pan car ready to go from last year's IIC Vegas race that could see track time if more come out. I was really hoping to run foam tc, but doubt I'll run mod in it. There aren't many mod drivers around and even less who run mod foam, so maybe 13.5 or 10.5? 10.5 would bridge the gap pretty good, but still really fast. Just a suggestion. Of course 13.5 would be great and a bigger staple abroad so could catch on easier. My 2 cents.

My plan is to run 1/12th, then either foam sedan, rubber sedan or 1/10th World GT pan car (last and only as second class) depending on turn out.

BTW, a suggestion about 1/12th. With IIC Vegas and other big races switching from 4 cell nimh to 1 cell lipo, deciding what to run for a class probably should be addressed. Many tracks abroad have adopted a rule of one level of motor to level out the playing field and make the transition and accommodate the 2 technologies. In other words, 4-cell 17.5 would be run with 13.5 single cell lipo, 13.5 4-cell with 10.5 single cell lipo- well you get the idea. This seems to work pretty well and the tracks using this method have had really good feedback related to it. I think this would be better than trying to start separate classes for the two different technologies.

Racebucks and I have 1/12th's with the one cell lipos. I would go that way if you are buying new batteries for the class.

If the 12th turnouts are large I can see having several different classes with regards to different motors/batteries/skill levels. If the turnouts are not that big you could just run 2 classes, pro 12th, and sportsman 12th and let people run any motor/battery combo they want. My buck .05.

What motor would you run for World GT? I have been running my Gen X 10 in a 235mm setup (Pro10) with a 3.5r at Crystal Park which is perfect as it is a large asphalt track. But carpet I am guessing 10.5 or 17.5?

The classes will all depend on who shows up with what but we don't want to dilute the classes too much.

I would guess the World GT class motor will be whatever they run at IIC this year. Scotty is supposed to annouce that in a few days.

Ok so if we follow the rules here http://worldgtrc.com/World%20GT%20rules%20-%2009.pdf

13.5 and no lipos? I hope a minor modifaction for the rules to allow lipo would be nice as I don't think I'll be picking up nimh batteries.

What are we going to run for F1 rules? Silver+black can motors, and tamiya rules pretty much? I assume people are okay with aftermarket bodies and tires?

BTW, I went to check out the progress today and the subfloor is looking good and flat. Can't wait to see the finished result.

The drivers stand is going to be the same height as the offroad track, but the fluorescent lights are a bit higher up, so it should be an awesome setup when completed.
